OT: Hypocrisy in politics

The biggest change, including southern Nevada, is that the democratic party lost much of the Hispanic vote, which was a huge reason for the Nevada pick up.
Latinos work hard as hell. I have watched them install new roofs for the whole street for the past 6 months

Me and my Roommate were up until 1 in the morning watching the results.

I wheel him out for his cigar and at 7 AM, we look outside and the tree that had blown over from 3 weeks ago brand new stake, tree standing up.

I didn’t even hear them do any work.

They definitely are the backbone of this country.

I become a numbers nerd the last few weeks and so watching all these pollsters come out and say how they "got it wrong" or were off on their polls after calling all the "Republican" partisan polls wrong or out of line with what they were seeing has been hysterical. They've all lost their credibility and in some cases probably wont be able to recover it, all for the money shelled out to carry perception of one campaign..

I would be shocked if they take an honest look at themselves in the mirror and identify everything wrong with them and their approach. A few in the party have that ability but most still just think everyone else is in the wrong and the solution is to double-down.
And portions of the left-leaning media, are already slamming Trump's upcoming administration, spreading fear. With all of the hateful rhetoric rising from the media, it will be extremely hard to solve the divisiveness in this country.

Like to see …. Get rid of the global warming scam, it’s all bullshit money making.

— get rid off Smith Mundt … allowed government to propagandize and control speech, many people died because of it, many more will … or suffer damage … because of the lack of freedom of speech

- clean up the foods. We are fat and chronically inflamed more than any other country for a reason

- install a better PE regimen. We had it in the 80’s and before, minimal benchmarks for kids, PE every day. Our kids are fat and lazy.

- pharma. Look at EVERYTHING.

- mental health …. Needs to be front and center

- become energy independent

- no more wars

- bring manufacturing jobs back to the states

- inflation (obviously)

- cut govt spending, cut the fat of unnecessary jobs/departments

- finally enforce immigration laws

- give the cops some teeth, criminals must pay

- school curriculum, how to be a trans has no business in middle school and before.

- get men out of women’s sports

- aim for effectiveness/hard truths over feelings.

- get out of WHO quickly, they’re globally dangerous

- F NATO

- worry about your own back yard before we can help others. Period.

- Covid accountability across the board, will never happen though

- trafficking of people. Find out, stop completely, no free passes.

- many other things but this is top of head really quickly

Excellent list, and IMO, aside from a couple of items, it's hard to imagine that any American wouldn't want most of those items to be addressed. Most of those should be common sense, and not political, but sadly, many of them are turned political.

I can understand some back and forth with some of them … but I do think they’re pretty common sense.

Re abortion, that’s always a big one and it seems to drive a lot of ultimate decisions …. I have wiggle room there because I’m a choice type of person but can live with a non-extreme position (not allowed abortions and abortions in the 8th/9th months without potential harm to the mother).

Funny that you have a list that is a mile long, but you ignore the items that have the biggest impact on the average person in this country.

Medical, car and homeowners insurance cost. Secondary you could say illegal immigration that is a large portion of the cause of many of the items you have listed above.

… inflation, obviously ….. is what I stated. That covers what you are talking about and so much more. I didn’t want to say gas prices, medical costs, grocery costs, energy costs …. And list them all out, I intended it to be all inclusive.

Hopefully he’s learned from his mistakes from the first time around. I don’t view actual rhetoric or general assholery as a big deal myself, I know most people do. I’ve stated I don’t mind it with a coach either, just get the job done. Feel that way about a boss at work, I don’t have to like you, just lead us properly, feel the same about a coach. And I feel the same way about community leaders and beyond. Be effective. That’s it.

I think he had many mistakes first time around … first things, surround yourself with people you trust. Completely trust. Get rid of those that you don’t trust. I feel he fkd that part up BADLY his first time around.

Given the people he surrounded himself with before the election … I’m hopeful. It’s really strong and varied backing. He can really make a dent.

But while I’m hopeful, I’m cautious because the guy is a megalomaniac squared.

But I can see way beyond feelings and let logic dictate. Most people are wired in the opposite way though. Visceral rules, logic takes a back seat to it. Because of that, I think we have a chance at turning this country around and quite frankly, we were complete shit the last four years and the rest of the world laughed at us, had no respect for us, took advantage of us. I think all that stops.

Call me whatever you want, it’s water off a ducks back to me. I’m comfortable with what and who I am.

This is what I’m talking about above. At one time, citizens were protected. In 2012, it was flipped completely 180 by Obama.

If you control all the information, you control the minds.

This is why Musk was so important. And why the gov wants full control of Twitter.

He is a feeble old man at this point!!

The guy is a polarizing ego hound, but this is strong and hits me perfectly. We’ve had posters here (and from UNLV) that wanted voices here silenced, for some reason, I guess just control of information, painting a false picture, because they need unicorns and cotton candy blown up their asses …. Obviously, it’s something I never considered because the absolute foundation of America, in my opinion, is freedom of speech … thought and expression. Everyone has a mind and a voice whether you disagree with them or not, but if they want to speak it, it should be allowed. So yeah, what he stated here, I’m on board with 100%. Sadly, I think this country and people all over the world would have benefitted from it five years ago. A lot of uninformed decisions were made, imo, by following MSM and their lies and especially the subsequent squashing of opposing voices.

I didn’t watch the whole thing, don’t know if he mentioned the death of Obama’s ultra controlling Smith Mundt Act of 2012, but I pray he did.

If you feel what he says is wrong, you don’t believe in America or democracy. It’s pretty cut and dry.

I am curious how long before some of these hidden fact checkers end up going to jail. Facebook, twitter (X), Youtube, etc.. could have some real legal issues regarding the fact checkers who now may be forced into hiding. FACT: They are now coming for you fact checkers!

There was so much manipulation of the American people. Don’t get wrong, both sides do it. But this time around, it was dramatically amplified while the other side was completely silenced. It’s beyond criminal to me. I don’t like thought control, I don’t like the complete lack of basic freedom. At all.

They changed the course of so many decisions in life …. political, medical, etc.

I’m the type, think what you want, say what you want, do what you want, listen to who you want and I’ll do the same. It’s all good. Go about trying to live your best life. Good luck to you, good luck to me, you be the driver of your own destiny, step back big brother and let people live their lives.

I could probably name 100 people off the top of my head that should be jailed for life or worse for their actions/inactions.

This will mean that many of these social media platforms will be forced to allow the 10's of millions of banned conservative accounts to come back, and it is possible they could also be opened up to lawsuits for damages.

This is the first political speech I've watched all year in it's entirety.

WOW!

I think it's awesome that he's removing the censorship and he goes directly after public institutions (government agencies and Universities) that engage in it.

I would like to find another source to sue to repost the speech since I do not have a twitter/X account. Was one of the banned/censored ones without reason.

I tried and tried to find another source for the speech by Trump regarding ending this fact checker problem, and all I found where thousands of stories by NPR, PBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, etc... all attacking Trump and saying how their fact checkers have investigated every one of his speeches and found 1000's of lies. No doubt it is time to remove the media fact checkers that only check facts based on their political beliefs and definitions of the truth.

I think of the well renowned physicians, epidemiologists, virologists, vaccinologists - whether right or wrong …. were absolutely silenced in the very early going of the pandemic. Silenced and ridiculed, shamed … and they were regular people with insights in their area of expertise which flew in the face of the narrative.

You need different viewpoints, period. But they didn’t want us to have them.

It had an insane impact on individuals, on our country.

Censorship kills.

Absolutely against it.

If, early on, there was info out there that said … this helps, that helps (talking supplements), the vax might help, but you’ll still get the virus, you can still pass it on, you can still be hospitalized and you can still die ….. and you can actually survive C19 at a very high rate without the vxc ….

Now those are truths. If those truths were made available, vx uptake would have been garbage … and vx injury would have been low (in raw numbers, not percentage).

So yeah, it had a profound impact on everything and it was borne from censorship.

I never, ever want censorship (or forced anything) again. It was evil, plain and simple and it’s by far, my hugest disappointment with Trump. I hope someday he acknowledges that he fkd up in a major way, listened to bad people. We won’t see that, but I hope.

Honestly though, deplatforming conservatives was probably the best thing that could've happened to conservative movement. Instead of relying on 1 "conservative" media network, a thousand independent voices have emerged and created parallel platforms, media groups, and followings that aren't restricted by a controlled narrative or investment arm. It also opened a ton of the middle ground eyes as to the control of messaging the big networks have.

I think enough people were awake and angry and it forced independent journalists to go to work and provide content. And Elon taking over Twitter was huge for all of that.

But I do think they were so crazed that it forced many on the fence, even on their side moderately, to take notice of the injustices. They killed themselves. I think Trump ran a strong campaign, especially with his additions … but I think it was more about the democrats killing themselves with some really wild, nonsensical stuff.
