I think UNLV could go that high, if the head coach agreed to having assistants at 1 dollar per year.
The money is there to pay that and to pay the assistants a decent salary, the question is along the line of if they will continue running the athletic department into the ground or not while having one if not the highest athletic department budgets in the MWC?
It should be noted that the athletic department budget has dropped from $58 million to $47 million from 2012 to 2017. Fun fact: UNLV had a bigger budget then almost half of the PAC12 back in 2012. I wonder how much of that money was stuffed into the pockets of those that screwed up the athletic department while they had money to spare?

I would say that these numbers are usually skewed excessively with where the budget elements go. I didn't click your link, but I will. The operating budget of the Thomas and Mack at least used to be included in the athletics budget. Not sure what they do now.
