Truck's and SUV for Utah Men's basketball, Women's basketball and Women's gymnastics. I wonder what the football program will receive? This is insane.

$500K dollars for a year and they lost him?The numbers are starting to get insane. OU just lost a starting true freshman guard that they offered 500k a year to keep.
Yes, he was tampered with and offered more so entered the portal and the team that tampered has now been outbid. It’s gotten so far out of hand. It has ruint college athletics. Shame shame shame.$500K dollars for a year and they lost him?

You would think the money would dry up in a few years. Why pay hundreds of thousand to maybe million plus to 1 player that might make a slight difference in your team. Mainly FB not BB. IMO people will wise up and the money will get less and less. To finance these bigger programs must be in the millions and most have no chance to win a Championship.Yes, he was tampered with and offered more so entered the portal and the team that tampered has now been outbid. There is always hope. Hopefully the ncaa realizes this is a bad model and makes changes. My dream scenario would be a salary cap for example a freshman can earn $30,000 sophomore $50,000 junior $75,000 senior $150,000. Get rid of early signing period and just have 1 in February. Open the transfer portal the day after the national championship is played. Allow a 1 time transfer rule but if you transfer you are ineligible for NIL (or maybe limit) for 1 year unless you’re a graduate transfer or transfer due to head coaching change. NIL wasn’t intended to be a pay for play that it has become, it was intended to be Name, Image, Likeness meaning making money off merch sales, appearances and so forth but that isn’t how it’s working unfortunatelyYou would think the money would dry up in a few years. Because Boosters and the $$ behind NIL collectives aren't just about trying to win championships...You would think the money would dry up in a few years. Even giants like Ohio State and USC with HUGE booster pools are struggling with NIL right nowCurrent path is unsustainable..

But any time the NCAA sets any rules/limitations like that, it will be challenged in courts. Let's face it - not saying kids don't deserve more - but Ed O really opened up Pandora's Box when he went down this path. It's great for the athletes, sucks for everyone else, staff and fans. There is always hope. Hopefully the ncaa realizes this is a bad model and makes changes. Show me anywhere that these players would make anywhere near this type of money in the real world. With the exception of 2-5 percent of these college athletes, almost none of them have a chance of being a professional. It isn't just football and basketball that are tying into the NIL deals, it now includes both men and women in every sport. How long will it last before college programs can no longer find boosters willing to fork out the dollars? How long before only a handful of schools are competitive at the top level? How long before the TV money dries up with most schools and their fan bases no longer being competitive at the highest level, thus no longer interested in college sports? Once the major schools reach NFL level money, why wouldn't a fan just go watch pro sports anyway? But any time the NCAA sets any rules/limitations like that, it will be challenged in courts. We will see how devoted Oregon State and Washington State fans are the next several years as they decline to MWC-level.Show me anywhere that these players would make anywhere near this type of money in the real world. Yeah it would be lawsuits out the wazzoo. But at what point do we make athletes employees of the university and have them sign contracts of employment with a salary and incentives and if they are to leave before contract is up they have to pay a buyout at which the former employee can use towards finding a new employee. Each team hires a general manager to be a CEOBut any time the NCAA sets any rules/limitations like that, it will be challenged in courts. Definitely lawsuits but it doesn't mean they would win them. I think there is a strong argument for a cap and it is desperately needed otherwise just have the NFL fund them and call it their farm system.Yeah it would be lawsuits out the wazzoo.
