There is legitimate interest in Renaldo Woolridge[/URL]. The situation is still being assessed, so nothing has been written in stone. The advantages are pretty obvious. Though his numbers weren't great or consistent, he's shown a high level of capability against good competition. His value is in his length and athleticism which is something the Rebels can never have enough of. The longer, quicker and more athletic the player, the more ground the team can cover on the defensive end.

Though the basketball season is over, it was just a short break for the Rebels. They're back to work with lifting, individual workouts and regular pick up games.

You may want to keep an eye on the Baylor situation. Depending on how that all pans out, the Rebels may have a good shot at Ricardo Gathers. The Rebels were in the running before he chose Baylor. If ties are severed, expect the Rebels not only to get back into the mix, but maybe at the front of the line.

Many have asked, but it doesn't appear there is any movement at this time with Rodney Hood (Mississippi State).

Though he is the player not to be mentioned anymore, expect Shabazz Muhammad to announce he'll play for UCLA. This has been rock solid for at least a couple of weeks. However, there was a recent visit from Coach K that made up a bit of ground with Muhammad, but it shouldn't be enough to sway him from Westwood. But again, anytime Kentucky is involved with a recruit, you can't count them out. If I were a betting man, I'd put it at 98.5% UCLA, 1% Duke, 0.5% Kentucky.

Grades have been fine for all of the incoming recruits and all the current Rebels are in good standing. Summer session number three runs from July 9 to August 10. All newcomers will be in that session (at worst) so that they will be eligible to travel to Canada (Aug 17th-23rd). UNLV will get 10 practice days before heading north.

Though it has not yet been announced, expect to see Mashour to ask for his release from the program.

As a reminder, just because somebody isn't on the hotlist... just because you've yet to see any rumors.... that doesn't mean that there's not somebody else out there. There are alot of moving parts behind the scenes and they never rest.
