New OC

From what I have been reading, he was making $550,000 per year at Oklahoma State, if that is true UNLV has hit the lottery in regards to money for staff even to match that pay!

Hoping it’s a little higher. Typically you get 2-3 times the HC salary for assistants. Hopefully he gets closer to $3m for staff

https://www.reviewjournal.com/sport...to-change-more-than-a-football-coach-1918006/

Reed-Francois said UNLV’s football recruiting budget, which last fiscal year was $503,000, tops the Mountain West. UNLV also is in the top half in assistant coaches’ salaries at $1.98 million, which will rise to $2.2 million for the new staff. Arroyo was given a five-year record-shattering contract. beginning at $1.5 million and ending at $1.6 million.

So 3x was about right when Sanchez was among the lowest paid coaches in CFB. If this article is accurate, the small bump in staff salary pool will be nice, but it's not exactly $3-4.5m.

"Dunn, however, will remain on OSU’s staff for the team’s upcoming Texas Bowl against Texas A&M on Dec. 27 in Houston, according to Jeremy Kolok of The O’Colly."

Can you believe this ish? The HC who's going to coach his old team in their bowl game has hired an OC who's going to coach HIS old team in THEIR bowl game. Oh, the humanity... the humanity....

Well, we know how to find the future DC - current bowl team with a bowl game annoyingly late.

With recruiting in feb, it should be no problem. Just maybe UNLV will become football school?

Along with UNLV pushing advertising to sell football tickets right now, all of the splash from the staff hiring so far, I wouldn't be surprised to see a big bump in ticket sales this year.

Guys. He's the best WR coach in the nation. If you would like to see him call plays, go to the first drive of the 2nd half of Oklahoma St. v. Oregon St. due to an elevator issue we had no coaches in the press box and Dunn started calling plays from the sideline.

Great coach, Great guy.

Good to hear.

We could use some good news around these parts.

Oklahoma State has had some very good offenses under Gundy. Would be happy to see some of that find its way here..

Couldn't find a youtube link, so I went with the ESPN play by play. I would accept an opening-half touchdown :)

I have good seats for next year, but UNLV keeps trying to push me to join the RAF. That would raise me to the highest priority for picking seats for about $25 extra. I am curious if we get to walk into the stadium and pick our seats, or if it is by a seating chart?

Dunn will be with Ok State for the bowl game and then come to UNLV as far as I know. So far the coaching staff is looking like an A+, and it is hard for UNLV fans to see anything going right without thinking bad things will come soon!

Is Joe Bob the new DC?

He was the main recruiter for a family friend's WR son in the last couple of years. Talking to the kid during his recruitment, Dunn was THE reason he went there. He was well versed in the WR Dunn had coached and loved being around him. I think he met Gundy like three times and one of those time was when Gundy landed a helicopter on his high school practice field to close the deal.

Dunn is highly regarded by recruits at all the passing camps that are so prevalent these days. I think he is a major plus for UNLV and I'm surprised he would come here.

I am a RAF member and have not heard a peep about how exactly what will work. I assume it will be through seating chart. Since the stadium will still not be complete when they want to finalize a huge majority of tickets, gotta imagine we won't be walking through the construction zone.

Sadly.

If it was done in May, I would expect a walkthrough and probably double my season ticket seat count upon seeing it.

I'm hoping the alumni can still get 2 for 1 tickets. If so, I'll increase from 4 to 6 or maybe 8.

There's no way there will be a walk through for the reasons mentioned above.

Here is what the RAF sent me.

"IT is an exciting time to be a Rebel Football fan! As we continue to plan our move into Allegiant Stadium next year, new head football coach, Marcus Arroyo is already hard at work to prepare for the 2020 season. We wanted to provide more details regarding the seat selection process for Allegiant Stadium, which will begin in early Spring of 2020.

You are currently in: GROUP #1

There are four Seat Selection groups, they are as follows:

- Group #1: 2019 Football season ticket holders + Rebel Athletic Fund members (sorted in RAF Priority Point order).

- Group #2: 2019 Football season ticket holders who do not belong to the Rebel Athletic Fund (sorted in RAF Priority Point order). Group #2 members have until December 31 to donate to RAF and jump to Group #1.

- Group #3: Rebel Athletic Fund members who were not 2019 Football season ticket holders (sorted in RAF Priority Point order). Group #3 members will have a window to secure a seat selection appointment.

- Group #4: Those who are not season ticket holders and are not RAF members who place a deposit for new 2020 Football season tickets in advance of public on-sale (sorted in order of deposit date).

Your priority point ranking as of December 31, 2019 will determine your seat selection standing. At that time, you will be ranked within your selection group. You may increase your points and improve your ranking by donating to the Rebel Athletic Fund up until December 31. You can also view your current points by logging into your online season ticket account below."

We look forward to making your seat selection process as smooth as possible. Expect more information on your seat appointment in mid-February. If you have any questions please reply or give us a call at 702-739-3267. Thank you again for your continued support and GO REBELS!

I've been contemplating to "move up" for about a month. Just haven't pulled the trigger. I'd love to keep my same seats from SBS. 40 yard line 15 rows up? Yes please.

Since you need to join the RAF by the end of the year to move to priority group #1, you have one week to make the change. $25 is a quick and easy way to go. As for 2:1, I was told by the athletic department that this would continue in the new stadium when I purchased my season tickets this last season.

With the right coaching staff coming on board to recruit, I am waiting for UNLV to get their first 4* recruit commits. If this happens, I expect it could make a huge difference in ticket sales. The only huge unknown is the parking situation which must be cleared up prior to season ticket sales.
