New D Tackle

How about the 2nd D Tackle
We got a DL from LSU?

But

He will more than likely play a lot here, against G5 level competition!
Maybe, coming from a big school to a small one doesn’t guarantee success. Our Texas receiver just bore that out. I am more excited about the younger guys who have room to grow than a 5th/6th year player with 4 career tackles. At that point most of them are what they are. Mullen is probably getting as many bites at the apple as possible on those types figuring one or two will actually hit.

True about Cain but there can be a Catalon or a Woodard who was a walk on at Arkansas.

But I ask you, what is the alternative in the NIL marketplace?

We are a G5 playing mostly G5 teams all we have to do is beat all of them to get a seat at the table at season’s end. Kind of like a bear is chasing you and someone else, be faster than the other guy with you and you stay alive!

Except Woodard came here as a junior so a perfect example of someone to take a chance on. Catalon also had two years' eligibility left. The ones I am less excited about are the ones who have already played 4 years. But that doesn't mean they aren't worth taking a chance on. We have signed a number of guys with only a year left so I am sure some of them will pop.

Look at it this way. Not everyone can be a starter. Quality depth. Would you rather
have backups from South Dakota State University transferring in or backups from LSU and Texas?

Most are one year rentals to be honest. Any production on a top 25 team and they’ll be poached for a bigger payday. We were extremely lucky Ricky stayed and others as well.

Exactly. It's like that with most teams now, not even just G5 teams. Due to NIL and the portal, there are more guys than ever switching teams for any number of reasons, but I'm sure money comes in high on the list for most of them.
