not with 2,000 people in the stands are they going to make one of those!
Speaking of the sparse crowds, I was checking the web sites of the local papers this morning. The R-J has a couple of boiler-plate articles about the Rebels win on Wednesday at Air Force.A standard recap and their custom "3 takeaways..." piece
The Sun, hasn’t a word. Not even one mention. not a box score, nothing. And it’s not like they had something on Thursday and moved on. They keep their stories for several days, until new pieces replace them.
OK,on Thursday, I thought perhaps it was a night game, and their deadline was earlier than the conclusion of the game. But no, here it is, Friday, and they’re still headlining the loss to Utah State.
I know that defeating Air Force doesn’t exactly qualify as a crowning achievement, even though it’s the first time we’ve accomplished that feat since 2014, but you’d think our local paper might, at least note it’s occurrence.
Putting bodies in the seats at the T&M might be helped by generating interest among the residents. Assuming that some read them, I think it’s incumbent on The R-J and The Sun to provide coverage. I intend to inform them of my opinion. i'm guessing it will land on deaf ears…
Go Rebels!
