MWC being dropped by the Las Vegas Bowl starting 2020

We build the stadiums for the Pac12 to showcase their championship games in BB and FB should we not get an invite by the conference.

It's incredibly frustrating to see the conference and by extension UNLV (but also directly since it's here in Vegas...) get burned by organizations and groups of note that operate at least partially in the state of Nevada.

Either way, with speculation abound on MWC involvement at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, I think that's a decent option for MWC champ if the payout is right. Wouldn't expect it to be LV Bowl level, which is what, double the next highest on MWC docket? It would be cool to see MWC 1 vs Big 12 5 or 6 in Tempe. I'm of the opinion that the Stub Hub Center where the Chargers play in LA would be an outstanding venue for a MWC bowl game if an agreement for stadium use can be worked out. MWC 1 or 2 vs at large with BYU reprising its role of 'auto offer if they are eligible' that they currently have in LV Bowl.

It makes sense. It's not like the LV bowl easily sells out every season. Moving to a state of the art NFL stadium seems overkill for the MWC tie in against a middle tier Pac foe.

Is a bit frustrating losing a bowl game in our back yard. Moving the our game to Tempe isn't bad, but having it in Las Vegas makes so much financial sense.

Agreed...

It's not a bowl that has needed good will from Las Vegas or the university to do well, since UNLV is seldom involved... but when this is official, any good will is gone. Sucks for conference and UNLV... totally understandable from LV Bowl. With that said, ESPN Events owns and operates the bowl game anyway, so it's not like the head of the bowl game is even in any kind of real power position here. If ESPN says SEC, then SEC it is.
