Mike Grimala blocked me?

I was a communications major at UNLV in the late 70's early 80`s and they taught us to be objective, impartial and don't misrepresent facts by leaving things out of the story Now it's all opinion and little news . People watch the news they want to hear.
I always liked the communications class. It wasn’t required in Nursing School when I was a student but It helped my public speech and confidence immensely when I took it later on.

I used to have anxiety about speaking in front of people. I met a girl in communications class and she was like you know, “you should try some alcohol, it will calm. You down.” So one day I started drinking before Sundays at church to “calm me down” before I started to sing in front of everyone. Not a good effect..

Laura and the Ingraham Angle, Life Liberty and Levin, allll awful to watch.

Yep exactly which is why I don’t watch Fox News or CNN or read The NY Times etc. I watch local news they seem to be the closest to fact based I can find. I will make up my own mind based upon the facts I don’t need it spoonfed to me.

He had an article that went out about the transgender volleyball issue in MWC. Condemned the teams that forfeited.

A guy asked him on X if he would let his daughter enter a boxing ring with a biological male. I posted 'He won't answer that'.

BLOCKED.

I could see if I cursed or went at him, but for that?

Ok to be fair he use to post pics of his cooking. One particular picture was of a steak he made. It was the saddest thing I had ever seen. Well done but some how just grey in color through out with no char on it, like he had boiled it..

Anyway I posted 'I didn't think something could be killed a 2nd time'..

So maybe that was it. 😁
There is a scene in King of the Hill where Hank is teaching his son how to cook a steak.

Bobby asks, “What if people ask for a steak well done?”

Hank: “We ask them politely, but firmly to leave.”

It's too bad that UNLV sports lacks end-to-end coverage in our local media. Reno does it very well with Murray and NSN, including some good MWC coverage. I would pay for the degree of coverage the school up north gets. Grimala wasn't great, but not having anything at all on the beat side hurts. I don't need or want rose-colored coverage, as I don't think its a beat reporters job to spin.

I'm not happy for anyone to lose their job. I thought Grimala did better with his basketball analysis than football. For the 4 to 5 seasons or so I was attended spring and fall football practice everyday; almost all of the reporters would show up in the last 5 minutes. @Pistol Pete 1 and @Bullmastiff 1 can confirm.

The exception was Dasco. He wasn't there every day, but when he was we had good conversations. Just looking at footage now, it seems like journalists or social media pundits care a lot more than they did 10 years ago. I can imagine its flipped for football and basketball.

I wish we had a Chris Murray type person. He's a homer, but I enjoy his coverage of everything not related to UNLV. At least he puts some thought into what he says and he can back it up with data. He does more than regurgitate the twitter rumor mill.

I've been tempted to go back and renew my press pass, but I don't have the time anymore to go to morning events.
