I am not a coaching expert but just a fan. But has any one who expressed opposition against the possibility of Mike Brown becoming the next UNLV head coach, done any research on Mike Brown's credentials and experience? I don't know if he is the guy or whether he will get the job done, but I came away impressed.

Did you know that Mike Brown was an assistant under Gregg Popovich, a lock for the hall of fame and one of the greatest basketball coaches and minds of the last 25 years on any level? I would anticipate you would have to be a pretty good coach to work for Popovich! Brown was also a assistant for Rick Carlyle of the Pacers. I don't think Larry Bird ... the GM would approve the hiring unless Brown brought a lot to the table! Also, let's not over look the fact that Mike Brown was the 2009 NBA coach of the year and head coach of the Cavs and Lakers.

I also read that Mike Brown was recently named by head coach Mark Few to join him as one of two assistants to coach USA Basketball in the Pan American games. I would think Mark Few had a lot of options! All I can say is that Mike Brown has to have a really good basketball mind and be a pretty good coach to accomplish what he has at only 45 years old.
