Memphis wanted him out and, luckily for them, Georgia Tech came calling.

The problem was Memphis was due a $ 10 million buyout for the Pastner contract. Of course Ga. Tech. balked. BUT Memphis wanted him gone so bad they not only waived the $ 10 mil but paid Pastner $ 1.25 Mil to leave.
