Marion...

Are you sure about that? Honest question. What state law inhibits such funding?
Reagan need to run for an office. That law need new amendment. Memphis and Cal used casino chips as their NIL long before the NIL existed. Time to even the odds a little bit for UNLV.

Because you’re using money earmarked by taxes pursuant to statute. Thats why they had to get the legislature to sign off on the convention authority money being used to fund Allegiant. A new tax district was then used to repay that “loan.”

And no thanks.

don’t leave me with the professional victims- I’m quite reasonable too. Let me in your club please

Arkansas: Sam Pittman hopes to have his offensive coordinator in place next week, and interim offensive coordinator Kenny Guiton and UNLV offensive coordinator Brennan Marion will be among the candidates that interview, the CBS crew calling the Razorbacks game today share.
I get that Marion has to take the interviews when offered but it really sucks for the players. Hope they take it the right way and want to play hard for him.

Why do you assume he's taking a job in Arkansas of all places and second, he's an OC, not Tark... Odom has a very good track record at hiring smart OCs
Well IMO Arkansas has to change thing up. They have to go into another direction. Odom would absolutely kill it recruiting and his Offense would be something to see with 4 to 5 * players running his system ,

Coach Pittman may not last another full season. I dont know if this a good move for Marion
Maybe not, but Marion doesn't seem like a guy who wants to put down roots anywhere for an extended time anyway. With some success at that level he would be better positioned for an HC job.

If you read what Lobby posted. He got roots now in Vegas. Got a girl and kid coming. He will get a nice pay raise in the off season here.

Then it would be it's a distraction before conference title game. Then it would be distraction before bowl game.

If you get asked for an interview I think you take it.
Agree with the first part. Disagree with the 2nd part especially our situation of being more important to our program than it would be to a 1st year OC at a school with more of a history that can easily replace parts bc of their history. We have none.

We just disagree. Live with it.

Brennan Marion won’t be here long, but going to Arkansas doesn’t seem like a smart move.
You have to lock up ODOM, Marion and Scherer .Have a big buy out. If someone poachers Odom give Marion the HC job. I am 1000% sure they have both discussed senerios between the 2. Hopefully they are being transparent with UNLV so we can have some type of contingency plan.

No, you don't. Good grief I understand we're having a good year. It's been above what most expected. But no, you don't just give a HC position to the OC because you're afraid he's going to leave for a job. Did we learn nothing? Never again should we step back to hiring first time HCs from coordinator positions. Never... I don't care if he walks on water. Being OC does not guarantee it translates into running a program. OCs will come and go, that's the nature of the position unless you're a rare type like Liebold and your OC stays with you for 15 yrs and multiple schools. Keep Odom, try to keep Marion at least another year, then continue to hire right.

If Odom LEAVES. If Marion is our main recruiter, our recruiting class might go up in smoke and player might leave. NEW SYSTEM if Marion follows Odom or gets a better gig somewhere else. There is a reason SDSU interviewed him . HE CHECKS a lot of boxes. U have to start somewhere.

This!

Our roster on offense is built for this system and I doubt starting over completely with someone else makes sense unless you absolutely had to!

Our offense is built around a modified RPO/spread just like 90% of the Country. It's unique because of the way Marion runs plays, not in its personnel... a new OC will be able to come in and still run a majority of schemes, outside a pro set drop back offense, with the players that are here...
And as to recruiting... what's to say the next OC won't also continue to recruit at a high level. That's kind of the expectation that we should have instead of just throwing the keys at an inexperienced coordinator because he might bolt for a job elsewhere

Have a little faith.
