Looks like rule passed for direct payment from schools. And capped at 15 scholarships

Going to need a lawyer steeped in this issue for explanations. Says there is a hard $ 20.5 million cap for payments INCLUDING NIL but fails to explain how that can work. Doesn't explain how title 9 will work for equal payments to female athletes. No final approval till reviewed by a judge sometime this summer. Many other questions. AD's heads have to be exploding. NIL agents have to be wetting themselves and regretting their Lambo payments.

Thanks!

Will this help level the playing field for schools like UNLV? I hope so, this NIL money thing is ridiculous and only a few schools will benefit!
No one in G5 is going to be paying the cap of $20.5 million. The revenue sharing if you opt in (not required) is actually 22% of the revenue income of that school capped at that $20.5 million. The revenue of UNLV athletics at 22% is more like 1/3 of that cap (It's been a while since I've seen the revenue amount and at this moment I don't want to look for it. But, its not anywhere near a P4 revenue.)

The only G5 school I've heard say they will opt in is Memphis. There may be others but, they haven't officially said so that I'm aware of. UNLV also said at the time of hiring Dan Mullen that we would also participate. That is yet to be official. But, if we want to look like we are serious about the P4 then we better damn well do it.

The thing of it is in the G5 world if one is going to do it then others will have to do it to stay competitive. Even in the P4 world there are some schools that might struggle to meet the 22% but, they almost have to to stay competitive with the other P4 schools.

I'll be surprised if the P4 don't opt out - of the NCAA. Form their own league and off a 60 Mil cap.
Its coming only questions are when and how many schools. Probably be two conferences like NFC/AFC split in to divisions. Right now in the Power2 plus Next2 conferences I believe thatthere are 67 schools, I think that number will shrink when the new conferences are formed.

I agree. They will bet greedy and limit participation.
