Let’s get a big crowd out there!!

Some Boise fans seem to believe it is going to be largely a Boise crowd. I don’t remember them having a large contingent at the MWCCG last season.
My best guess is they had around 6K at the MWC championship game. Currently the crowd is closing in on 40K with level 300 seats being sold. My expectation is 30-35K of the crowd will be UNLV fans.

The RJ article said only 2% of sales have come from Idaho. Mostly NV and CA which would lean towards heavy UNLV base.. could be an amazing environment finally
That was through the secondary market. You’ve got to figure most Boise fans have been holding their tickets thru UNLVtickets for months. They had a good crowd on short notice for the champ game, they’ll bring a larger one for this game they’ve been planning for.

I do think this late surge of ticket sales in the 200s and now 300s should be 90% UNLV fans. If Boise is mostly limited to their sidelines similar to Syracuse it’ll be a great home field environment/advantage.

Admin really dropping the ball here. 300 level should’ve opened for no more than $25/seat.
I've been on that train for a while also. I know there's a cost to opening up different levels due to staffing, etc, but we also want to build the crowds. This Boise game is huge obviously, but maybe they can offer some discounted rate for the next home game to all people that attended the Boise game. Or something similar.

This also puts to rest the believe that this is a pro town that will not support UNLV college athletics. Bring in the right coach and win in basketball and they would also come back.
100%. Vegas is big enough that it would support a winner for sure. And if the current students get used to going to the games, many of them will become alumni who will likely continue to go to games.

Yes. If youre already opening the level up, man, take advantage of the support and offer 2 for 1s or something.. Buy ticket for today vs Boise at the 43$ list price, get SDSU for free... The UNR game will sell itself.

I have been keeping a EYE on UNLVTICKETS and it seems like the 3rd level has been selling good. I seen multiple sections not for selling anymore since Yesterday. Unless they pulled them for what ever reason. But it look like we should easily have a crowd of 45000 plus. WIN AND THEY WILL COME!! This is Vegas! Most people only support winners in this town not losers . Unfortunately I support both.

Listen I know people have different financial situations but these prices are more than reasonable for a college football game these days. Add in the fact that the venue alone is a top of the line NFL Venue where the amenities and concessions are top tier. The prices aren’t holding fans from coming, they just aren’t. People complained about Sam Boyd’s location, the dirt parking lot, bathrooms, concessions, the open end zone. UNLV is blood letting set to come up witha crazy figure just to be in consideration of keeping Barry Odom and we want to sit here and complain about lowering ticket prices. We can’t have it both ways. People are willing to spend crazy amounts on Raider tickets and Knights tickets. Win and get momentum and people will show. Look at what’s happening right now

These same people have no issue with spending $100 for a meal, or dropping $250 in a club. The cost isn't an issue, all that discounting the price of tickets will do is piss off those loyal fans who paid full price.

48 bucks is not bad, MD for USC wanted 163 for down low or something like that and 93 for the upper deck, all about money.

WM41 in April, those prices are insane, and the 800 fee that the Stadium is charging is criminal, lol lol

Im sorry, but how many locals do you know regularly drop 250$ to go clubbing that would also attend a UNLV game...
The problem isnt the value, its the long local history of not being a quality product. Las Vegas locals complain about ticket prices because for decades the product on the field was unwatchable. Now you've got a good product and want to increase local support but the price point makes it very difficult.
Case in point- at 43 bucks a ticket, thats almost 200 dollars for a family of 4. That family of 4 isnt regularly dropping 250 in a club or 100 bucks for dinner and when they do spend that kind of money, they are doing it 1x. You're trying to build a long term relationship with new fans and fans that were casual at best prior to Odom. You want them to drop in for 1 game, fine, but you want them to come back or next year buy season tickets because they had an affordable awesome time. Yes, the product is much better, but there's alot of locals with long memories of losing to Howard and dont care its in a shiny new stadium, thats not why theyre attending the game.

I don't disagree with you about the prices. They're fair. IMO, whether right or wrong, I think it's easier to get people to come back additional times, than it is to get them in the building for the 1st time.

And I agree also about winning. If you win, people will show up, but it doesn't always happen right away.

307 through 311 only have a dozen or so tickets left in each section and 312 is sold out, or at least unavailable for online purchase

So much for the theory of a slow build.

I think the slow build days are over with the portal.

Taking a deeper dive into this, a fair amount of guys playing significant minutes are Arroyo guys. That's not a knock on Odom. Instead it's showing the difference a coach can make.

I still think with massive roster sizes in football it can take 2 or 3 years to right the ship depending on the school. But you better be seeing progress each year.

Basketball there's really no excuse for it to take more than 2 years.

A lot. In regards to cost, depending where you go, you can easily spend $20 per person for fast food. How much does the average family spend for ever member of the family to have a cell phone on a monthly basis? Even going to a movie cost around $30 per person with concessions included. I guess I run in a different crowd, because a lot of people I work for or with go out on a regular basis and think nothing of spending $100 or more for a meal/drinks per person.

A lot of those who walked away from UNLV football over the last couple of decades, In 2001 UNLV averaged 28,097 per game, are now middle aged with a lot of disposable income. Many of those who have recently come back and are supporting UNLV and the NIL program have a lot to do with the recent financial success (the field success is 100% on the coaching staff and players), and those are the fans UNLV needs to entice to join the current bandwagon. There are approximately 88,000 UNLV alumni that live in Clark County, those are the fans UNLV needs to get interested in UNLV football.

I just spent $76 at Taco Bell for a family of 6. We’re $70 deep if we go to McDonalds and all get meals.

The prices at UNLV games are hella low. Season ticket prices for football and basketball are on the insane low end of college athletics.

It would be nice to get butts in seats, and consistent winning is what will do that.

Liar.

Prices haven’t gone up. The economy is and has been great.

Crowd will be awesome tonight, really looking forward to it.

But, no way we're turning out over 45k. Even 40k is a stretch. I believe the number will be in the mid-high 30k range, which is awesome for a MWC/UNLV football game. Let's hope the team gives all the fans a reason to return!

$76 at Taco Bell? That used to get you like 150 tacos!

Remember the $.39, $.59, $.79 menu?

I’ve been at Disneyland this week for my daughter’s birthday. I could have easily paid for my football and bball season tickets, including food.

You have to change a fan base’s priorities to get them to games.

There's an intersection in Bradenton, FL where they have Taco Bell, Burger King across the street from a big and old funeral home that do cremation. Every time you drive around there it always smells like burnt meat.
