News Lady Rebs

I think this might be a very different team next year. Need another PG and a F/C and maybe more depending on movement.

I have zero info, just a feeling. Seemed like McKinna had her head in the stands towards her family more than the tournament. As I said, zero info, just a feeling.

Also, with DRF at AZ, I'm keeping a leery eye on Adia's status there.

Stupidity, paying Kruger over Lindy..
Wins means zero to an overall athletic department when it comes to covering cost. Great the tennis team, women's track, volleyball, etc. win games, but the bottom line is those sports are more or less non-revenue sports. UNLV women's basketball charges $75 for season tickets, with a few exceptions at the center of the court, and has around 3,000 seats to sell in the Cox Pavilion. If they sell ever seat in the arena they will have any income of around $225K for the entire season. Where is the money magically going to come from to pay a high six or low seven figure salary? Common sense says you can't pay salaries that are not justified by the program income. With the drop off in ticket sales for UNLV basketball reaching into the millions over the last 5-10 years, this is a big reason that Kruger must go if they can afford to remove him.

There is some legs to this. The Arizona job, is one of the job's Lindy has some connections there.
She, could take it if it opens up.

3 Ivy League teams in.
13 regular season champs didn’t win conf tournaments. Squeezed out and didn’t handle their own path.

UNLV gets the 2 Seed and hosts against Hawaii.
I would have rather played somebody else because we will play them, 2 games a year in the 2026/27 season.
Buy your tickets.

choking away what i believe would have been a quad 1 road win v UA really hurt
Arizona finished the NET at 58. UNLV finished NET at 48.
Also, losing in OT at Northwestern when UNLV was leading by 1 point with 27 seconds left with the ball.
We, lose by 3 points to Northwestern hurt and obviously losing by 1 point at SDSU, hurt our chances at an at large.
If, UNLV would have won @ Northwestern and @ SDSU. Our, record would have been 27-5, not 25-7.
We, probably would have gotten in the NCAA Tournament.

When you're the #1 tourney seed, playing the tourney at home and completely choke the championship game.

Hate to say it. But deserved. No crying allowed. Don't choke. Problem solved.

Looking forward to seeing how we do with Florida. I've pushed here to see Spencer get more playing time and someone finally listened. Going back to the Boise game where coach gave her 12 minutes of playing time and she scored 12 points was a turning point for her. She is getting more time as witnessed yesterday. Ten points is good coming off the bench but, it's all the other things she does like playing defense and is not afraid to dive to the floor for a loose ball or to bang with players to disrupt their flow. Just solid minutes from a bench player and a high IQ basketball player.

It's hard to believe this was our first post season tournament win in over 20 years. Hope Lindy can keep it going.

Should, have won this game. Up, by 14 points late in the 2nd quarter at home.
This loss, is on coach Lindy.

To some extent but Meadow's back flared up when she hit the ground just before missing both FTs. Meadow's shoulder looks as if it was in a bad way as well. The hockey-like shifts in the 1st half went back to "normal" rotation in the 2nd. Thought there were some bench players that could have given quality minutes but... still a very winnable game.

Love where this program is compared to 5 years ago.

Yes, compared to 2008 through 2019, the Kathy Olivier year's. These last 5 years, are like going to the Sweet Sixteen.
Well, Meadow Roland can heal up for 7 months now, season is over.
Need, a stud PG from the portal. Need, higher NIL money to get that player.

Gonna have to ask auntie tut to break the piggy bank. On a serious note, tough loss, saw the highlights.

Since men’s is a mosoleum and I moved on they are gonna have to do a better job at getting people to the games for women’s and do a better marketing job. Free bus pass drinks etc
