There are always coaches available. We will never be able to afford to pay the buyout for the best coaches so we will be choosing from new coaches who aren't hugely paid ( the UTAH STATE model ) or coaches with past success who are no longer coaching ( Odom, Mullen). ( Admittedly, there are some on this board who believe strongly we do have enough money to get nearly any coach we can convince to come here ) IMO, trying to predict the year coaches are available to us is futile. Additionally, you aren't considering the effect on the entire brand of another year of CKK being in the dumps. It's proven that the right coach in the right program with adequate NIL can turn a program around in a year - two at the very most. In fact, If your new coach isn't successful after the second year you may be in trouble. Waiting is foolish.

Kevin should resign effective at end of season. Takes pressure off. Opens up a few things. I hope he knows his record is not good enough for a program and city in Las Vegas. I will always remember his year playing here and how very exciting it was, always wondering why he can’t see that and install an up tempo team. He for some reason has always coached conservatively, which is exactly what Las Vegas can’t stand.
