KNPR Interview with Coach Tony Sanchez

Getting the community to not only pay attention, but to care, is huge. The buzz Sanchez has fostered around the program is not one I've felt before, even when JRob was hired. This really feels like a "we" thing rather than a "them and us" thing. Apathy among a fanbase is the worst thing you can have. At least bashers care enough to bash.

I love his thought process regarding a new stadium. Important yes. But more important for the immediate health of the program is a football facility where the players will spend much more of their time. Fill up the stadium we do have in the interim and lets hope with the land deal near campus , stadium plans are soon to follow.

I also have a feeling that the Football Facility is further along than is being let on. I expect it to take shape quickly after plans are made public. No inside knowledge just a gut feeling.

The man can inspire some confidence. I don't know if he can coach, but his vision is sound and his method and reasoning fits the bill. Even if he can't fix UNLV; in the event of his failure I believe he will lay a very solid foundation for whom ever comes next.
