Depends where you are coming from. When UNLV is coming from one of the worst schools in world history and you’re on the heels of Hauck, Sanchez and Arroyo, Odom is a great hire.

When you are coming from Menzies, Otz, KK, Pasternak is a good hire. When you realize we have multi FF’s, it’s a garbage hire.

I hope you realize many of you are dogging guys in this search if they are not perfect from every angle. Had Harper floated Odom early in the process many of you would have claimed him a loser who got fired and could not elevate to match the top schools. Yet Odom was hired and he did better than great considering where he was starting from.

Doesnt matter who is hired you will get mixed reception from UNLV fans.
Whoever is hired will have an uphill battle to fight. Will have to put together a staff, rebuild a team, get donor support for NIL and get fans back in the seats.
Probably wont know if the right guy was hired until we see what recruits are brought in and how they play next season. I just hope the response isnt just "well he is better than Kevin was". That would just mean UNLV screwed up another basketball hire

Keatts is TRASH.

His first year at State, he finished tied for 3rd in the conference..,

Rest of his time there never finished higher than 6th & only accomplished that twice..

HARD PASS on that loser..

Plus everyone knew he was going to get fired ASAP before that magical run to the F4 last year..

Hmm, we have not been close of even going to ncaa for many years and you call a guy that got to a final four last year a loser. I guess Tark was a loser also in that he only won 1 of the 4 final fours he was in.

Very very few did not like Odom here. Pasternak has been there 8 years another Turner/Menzies who has been on the job for years and not gotten a sniff from other schools but I am supposed to believe we are smarter than everybody else.
