JR Rider’s entire career in an article

What a talent, what a waste. He will always be my hero and sticking it out at UNLV.

He will always be a Rebel.
Loved him as a player. Wish he could have corralled his temperament. Probably the most talented player I’ve seen at UNLV, could do it all.

Under Tark, either he was kept under control or it was hidden, but the local press was looking to make things tough on Tark so if anything was there, it probably would have been found. Under Mass, problems. Maybe it highlights how good Tark was with youth.

I’m glad he’s owned up to it instead of playing the victim like today’s youth tends to do, just wish he’d have recognized it earlier.

If he had a Kobe or Jordan mentality or even half of it he would be a Hall of Fame material. Amazingly fun to watch. Worth the price of admission at UNLV.

I worked at TJ Maxx on Flamingo while I attended UNLV during the early 90’s. JR would stop by to look for some discount jeans. Funny guy would always say you better go to the game after checking out.
