I respect every opinion on this board....fact is we are not an elite program and haven't been for 25 years. No one is laughing at us because no one cares what we do, we're not relevant. Blame rice, blame players, blame administration. For the past decade it has need coach gets his players, resources don't exist, inner turmoil.....our program reads like a tom Clancy thriller with more insider espionage than the damn CIA.
Many mistakes in 25 years, we run you out of town the minute adversity hits, no unity! Maybe none is deserved? Kruger is the man right now but couldn't achieve here???? Because we're not ELITE. I won't pretend to know the answer but I wonder if the big mistake we made was letting Rice go when Kruger was hired. Imagine the ability to recruit top talent with a great coach teaching you and mentoring you. We've asked an inexperienced head coach to learn on the job at a program that thinks it can run with the big dogs because we punked Duke a quarter century ago. Dave has had his glimpse of greatness and his share of failure and while the buck stops with him the common thread runs deeper.....players, administrators, and fans that are delusional about who we are now and who we should be in the future.
