It's happening...

Bronny James just announced for USC. Him and that point guard one and done for sure.
They’re going to get caught up in that cycle but they’ll replies with heavy talent. Still will be a crapshoot. Those guys are playing for NBA positioning. Mindset has to be team success, not how high can I vault in the draft. Imo.

It is interesting why Bronny didn't chose UCLA. More recent successes. Have to play actual defense when you want to play for Cronin I guess
UCLA is a huge question mark. Returning players aren't good and their class is average. USC has Boogie coming back and some other solid pieces. Collier is coming in with Bronny too. Good choice for Bronny imo.

No matter how it looks, UCLA seems to finish ahead of USC every year since Enfield and Cronin coach against each other.

Fair point. UCLA definitely finishes above them almost every season but USC is 6-4 against them in the last 10 and won 5 in a row recently. Not bad for a football school.

USC's system is more fun to play in and UCLA's system doesn't allow many players to showcase their abilities. Examples: Peyton, Amari, and Adem. Just my opinion though.

Didn't Kevin Simmons play the 5 position?
Simmons first season was complicated, Was Keon the center or was Kas Kambala? With Keon and Simmons getting suspended at the beginning of the season it got a lot more complicated. I think you could make the argument that Keon, Kas and Ike Epps got the greatest majority of minutes at the 5, but there were a lot of moving parts and he almost assuredly got some 5 minutes.

Then as a senior he was exclusively at the 4 starting all 29 games there Ike Epps was the back up 5 and covered for Kas that year with the suspension and mild injury. That frontcourt was Kas, Marion, and Simmons.

Joel Anthony 6'9", Louis Amundson 6'9" were small centers more like forwards coached by Lon Kruger here at UNLV. Odartey Blankson was a small forward but he could rebound. He had heart! Those players were Lons best center/forwards early in his UNLV history, and he definitely was better at recruiting guards. Also Tark usually played power forward types at center.
Like Richie Adams! He was a faves a very young kid. I just aged myself!!

Keon Clark was another 7’ player. Not too many in our history.

Houston was ranked No. 1 for most of the year. Their roster had two players listed at 6’9” and three at 6’8”. One of the problem 7 footer have is on defense because most can’t guard in space and coaches will take advantage of that like Nothern Iowa did with Brandon McCoy.
Speaking of McCoy, where did he end up. I remember he and Strom going toe to toe once but he never really appeared on the NBA

McCoy, don’t know where he is. Had some talent, for sure. But he was very entitled. I remember many thinking “good family, stable family, good bloodlines, grounded, plays musical instruments, speaks a few languages or whatever, etc, etc, etc. Don’t always judge a book by its cover. His parents shopped him around … he was extremely lazy and entitled.

Seriously?? That doesn't sound like todays entitled AAU basketball culture at all.😐

I wonder if the staff is still looking at Brad Ezewiro from Georgetown? He’s still available, visiting St. Louis today.. He’s connected with a lot of the players on socials.. At 6’10, 250 lbs, he seems to have the big body presence we’re looking for.. Only averaged 12 MPG at Georgetown, I think the Rebs could offer him more minutes while keeping Boone content with plenty of minutes at the 4/5.. Seems like a great fit IMO..

Interest is mutual and very high on both sides. It just picked back up this morning.

Idk for sure what the hold up was, we offered him when he entered the portal in late March. I think what happened was we offered and interest tailed off because we were trying to focus on others.

Regardless, he knows Shane from AAU and has known LuRod for quiet some time now.

Transferred from LSU to Georgetown when coach was fired. So he may be able to transfer again. From Oak Hills Academy in So Cal. Hasn't played a lot so a return to West Coast style ball would probably help.

He played at Oak Hill in VA, but yes he's from Socal and also went to Bishop Montgomery and some other high schools.

Should be able to play right away because Ewing got fired at Georgetown.

Now he has the look!

Good measurables and a big body to go next to Boone. I know I’m one of the few who thinks Khalib would benefit from playing next to someone like Ezewiro!

I’m one of the few as well.. Although I think Boone is fully capable of holding down the 5 spot, I think it should be in spot lineups.. We still need a depth big and Ezewiro is more of a fit than I thought.. He can have a bigger role but doesn’t expect 30 MPG at the same time, perfect.. Ez & Boone next to each other would cause some serious problems with their versatility.. I hope CKK doesn’t make the same mistake and think a K Jones type will do, we need contribution..

Brad Ezewiro would add some needed toughness on the frontline IMO. Played his AAU ball for the Oakland Soilders. If he is willing to accept his role this would be a really nice pick up and it would also add needed depth at the 4-5. I am for it. The man is a load!

I know I’m not the only one here with this desire but I want the Rebels in the NCAA‘s next year being talked about like FAU was last year. No I don’t mean a Final 4 run out of nowhere but how about making it to the field of 32 or dare I say Sweet 16?!! Let’s get this C position locked up with a 6’10” guy who weighs 240+ next to our guy Boone! Then let’s see what happens!

After watching the video I'd say his minutes are going to be almost totally determined by our weak MW officiating. Dave Hall will have him on the bench inside of four minutes.
this is why I dont want to depend on Boone for 30 minutes a game.... Theres no way a Center in the MWc can keep himself foul free long enough if theyre as active as we need Boone to be
