Yesterday the President of the NCAA floated the Idea of splitting the schools into haves and haves nots. The rich schools must guarantee an income to all their athletes. No exact numbers, but $ 8 mil a year to enter the "club" minimum with no maximum was discussed in forums. ( we only get $ 4 mil from our TV contract whereas the average payout for P5 schools is $ 30 mil. ) No discussion on how the NCAA Tourney would fit or would it be a p5 only Tourney. A pessimist could assume the "OUT" programs would be similar to current FCS programs.

This is the NCAA’s fault for holding on too long and letting this get to litigation. The flood gates open and we swing too far the other way without regulation.

The way this and the NIL is setup is not sustainable, at all. It’s going to ruin schools and their sports programs.

You don’t think they knew that? I think it was part of the plan. You can serve the richest now and not worry about the peasants.

Elitism sucks. Doesn’t matter in what part of life it is.

It's been trending this way for a while. The way college football has developed over the past 10-15 years has been a preview. A base of power schools that suck up all the talent while the others serve as feeder schools and jobbers.
