INSANE TO EVEN BE TALKED ABOUT

Look I don't think it's going to happen but the fact even one writer is putting us in the CFP is insane.

We are only 5 years removed from Arroyo's 'It doesn't count Covid year'
UNLV has a clear path to the CFP. I believe after the Oregon State game UNLV will be favored in the rest of the games this year which the possible exception of BSU. While it may not be an easy path, it is very possible for UNLV to run the gauntlet through the rest of the season. UNLV has the best schedule of any of the group of 5 programs, which puts them in a good position to get the auto bid!

I do think it is funny that Memphis jumps into the driver seat in the article based on a win over a really bad 0-3 Florida State, but when you look at the remainder of the schedule, UNLV has a much harder schedule than Memphis. I do not believe Memphis plays another good team the rest of the year.

I thought 8-4 to start season.

That number is now 9-3...

I hope they keep proving me wrong.

Memphis 2 home wins against nobody plus FSU on the road +19 ATS. UNLV 2 road wins as dogs against Big 12 and one home win against nobody +52 ATS. Really shouldn’t be a comparison between those two. I’d still have Boise above until we beat them, but Memphis shouldn’t be given as much credit as they are.

I have a feeling that FSU win will continue to age poorly. But still surprised they are getting so much credit for it.
We need Kansas to do well in the Big 12. And Houston may do better than expected. Sure Rice sucks, but they had a chance to win at OU. I think they end up being a little better than we thought after week 1

I figured at best, 2-1 right now. At worst, 1-2 and the some fans are clamoring “when does basketball start”. 0-3 wasn’t a possibility with Dixie and quite frankly, probably only a 10% at 3-0 with 2 tough road games.

People aren’t even going to bother much with hoops if football keeps rolling like this, especially if hoops has one of those early season North Pawtucket State losses.

Ya. Basketball is in big trouble with the schedule they put out and the product Kruger is going to fart out onto the court this year

Frustrating to hear the PAC wants St. Mary’s (along with Gonzaga) for basketball. UNLV has so completely mishandled MBB since CLK’s departure that it could cost us a spot in a relevant conf. Who would have thought a decade ago that football would be the potential savior and MBB the anchor? CKK better develop a fire in his belly to win at all costs.

Fire in the belly usually starts with urgency in the offseason and recruiting …

While I still think unlikely I think we can lose a game and still make it over most if not all undefeated teams.
