In the Nike Hoop Summit...
These things are usually over saturated with guard play. This game, so far, has been much, much better than the McD's AA game. Just better basketball.
I'm watching Zimm specifically, what he does off the ball, things like that. He really does have a great feel for the game. He's laying bodies on screens, not bone jarring, but effective. He makes more than cursory contact, he ties up the screen.
On another play, there was a drive by a guard where he sealed his man, a pass to him would have been any easy bucket - guard kept driving and Zimm continued to keep his man pinned and backed him to the baseline, clearing the lane. Smart, unselfish basketball.
He scored on a nice lefty drive off the backboard and drained an open 18 footer.
He's not the type of kid that is going to come in and dominate statistically as a freshman. You aren't going to see an 18 ppg/12 rpg type of average. But you have a selfless, high IQ kid with a sharp skill set.
I love that he's gained some nasty over the years.
