IF BARRY ODOM...

I agree and give him much more money. Let’s face it if he continues to win it’s a no brainer. Single handily is going to put lots of money in the coffers. The likes we’ve never seen before except with Tark.
Does anyone on here know how many season tickets are currently sold? I would love to see 20000 season tickets sold for next year.

The more I look at it I think Odom will get edged out by Fisch of Arizona. Coming off a few tough years they are 8-3 and all three losses are by one score.

Odom will get some consideration/votes. But with what Fisch has done in a good Pac12 twelve I think he gets the nod.

Fisch is in year three. Going 1-11, 5-7 and now 8-3.

Who has done more with less? More $ =more talent(PAC12). better body of work Odom gets nod. 3 more wins is not that big of accomplishment.

While I think Odom deserves Coach of the year, a good argument can be that UNLV was also 5-7 last season. How much will it cost UNLV to keep Odom and staff if he is coach of the year?

I get that. But they've gone toe to toe with some really good teams. Smoked a solid Utah squad. They are three one score games away from being undefeated and the PAC is strong this year.

Not to mention an inherent P5 bias with these things.

Look at the award for WR. 10 finalists didn't have Ricky White on it. And he has better stats then all but like 2 or 3 of them.

UofA and UNLV are two very different programs!

What Odom has done here at the proverbial NCAA “coaching graveyard” is nothing short of incredible. Yes we have beaten up on some teams that weren’t that good but we also have been in all games so far, no blowouts loss to teams like Fresneck, AFA or Wyo and you have to seriously consider Odom for the recognition he and UNLV deserve.

The 2023 Coach of the Year Award should have our coach’s name on it!

Nobody is arguing that.

Both teams were 5-7 last year. Arizona has some big financial problems right now.

Arizona has three losses and all were one score games to ranked teams at the time. And they have wins over two ranked teams.

Odom has been fantastic. UNLVs history of futility alone should make him a candidate.

Both guys have strong arguments.

P5 bias might tip the scales...

Let's the teams play for it! Propose that as a Bowl game.

I don't think he gets it, not nationally. But MW COY, easy peasy.

What he has done here is remarkable.

But the schedule was easy. We will have 2 wins over teams with winning records this season.

We had some returning talent from a 5-7 team last year.

Then there are stories like JMU (even with the loss) or an undefeated Liberty team.

Or Fisch, in an absolutely loaded Pac 12.

I think Odom deserves mentioning, and even an invite to the awards show if there is such a thing.

I think I am a pretty good of team's talent judgement. UNLV can definitely compete nationally this year.I wouldn't put up this team against the top 5, the rest seems fun to play. UNLV probably won't beat top 10.

Meh. We had some close wins against some average teams at best that went our way. Could have been losses

Even last week's win, which I am ecstatic about, was against a reeling air force minus some major pieces on their side of the ball.

I think we are top 40 good. I hope we win this week and get ranked, though deep down in my soul I don't think there are only 24 teams better than us.

Which is OK. Still on top of the world!

Further proof Odom getting national coach of the year will be a difficult hill to climb.

Marion not on top coordinators list with what he's done with UNLV?

P5 bias is a real thing.

One G5 coach on the list.
