that it's no fun and not really acceptable to post after a UNLV victory but I'm gonna do it anyway. This team is kinda fun to watch and root for. Not only was MM behind the 8 ball in recruiting but also with Morgan recuperating from surgery, Dembele battling a foot injury and then Klyburn with his knee issue. He has had a lot of things not really going his way and if I'm not mistaken Mooring had some early injury issues as well.

The defense is improving game by game and our free throw shooting has been solid. Some nice 3/4 court pressure as well as some nice 2 man traps in the 1/2 court. We have an offense that seems to not get bogged down very often with guys standing around, lots of movement.

Morgan looks as though the game is slowing down for him this year and his shots are starting to fall. Really nice 12-15 footer on the base line. Also grabbing his share of rebounds which never happened the last 2 years.

Poyser has a sweet stroke and can really get off the ground. Excellent rebounder and his point guard skills are improving. If I had to take a guess I would think MM would really like for Mooring to take that spot and Poyser to slide over to the 2. Oche is a big strong guard that would have no trouble moving over to the 3 which would give us 3 nice guards to rotate in and out.

Jones is good. Enough said!

Dembele should be contributing nicely within a month. Has shown some flashes of being the rebounder/shot blocker we need.

Love MM on the sidelines and the airwaves. So refreshing to hear him speak openly & candidly with a good dose of humor mixed in as opposed to that PC uptight coach speak we heard for the last 5 years.

Go Rebs!

I have come here after the games and it is a ghost town. Understandable after the last few years that most people are in a watch and see what happens mode (can't blame them).

Shocking that UNLV is shooting great at the free throw line. When is the last time you could say that? Fundamentals!

The team still is struggling with the other team attacking the basket, but I think the team will continue to improve under MM and you will see the defense get a little better game by game.

They have a long ways to go, winning half of their games is no guarantee, but I do believe MM will coach this team up and they will get better as the season goes on and who knows where they will be by the time the conference tournament rolls around?

I'm an out of towner now, and didn't catch the stream. I pulled open the box score & AP recap the next morning and saw this line:

"The Rebels were outrebounded 40-27 but won it at the free throw line, making 26 of 32 to Fullerton's 16 for 24."
I had to do a double take to make sure I clicked on the correct game. UNLV won at the charity stripe? UNLV Men's BB? Where am I?

I think we look pretty solid on the offensive side. The defense is the bigger concern.

It has been encouraging to see us slowly add more pressure sets every game. The latter regime started with lots of pressure in the first few games. They would get burned and then go to a more conservative defense for the rest of the season.
