The cannon has returned to Las Vegas after spending a year in the northern portion of the state! All members of the UNLV community are invited to join in and celebrate by helping paint the cannon. Please read the following press release regarding this event:

Fremont Cannon Painting Celebration
WHERE:
UNLV Student Union on campus:
-Weather Permitting, we will be in the amphitheater at Valerie Pida Plaza outside of the Student Union
-Alternate location will be inside the Student Union on the ground level
WHEN:
Monday, Oct. 5, 2015
11:00 am (Cannon travels from Lied Athletic Complex to Student Union)
11:15 am (Cannon painting ceremony)
WHY:
To ceremonially paint the famous Fremont Cannon from blue to Rebel Red after the UNLV football team’s thrilling 23-17 victory over the Wolf Pack on Saturday in Reno.
