Pretty excited to see the guys take the floor. Really looking forward to see what Hardy and Beck are gonna bring. I think we will really need both of them this year to get headed in the right direction.

Hope to see great stuff from the team this year. Excited to see if Clyburn has his mojo back, if McCoy is the real deal, how well Juiston translates to D1, if Mooring can keep it rolling, the 3 headed monster of bigs (4 if you include Sljivancanin) will do, how well the team can jell, and just how good the new guys are. The player I am most curious about is Jay Green. I have heard good things but have seen very little highlights from him.

Let's get out and support the Rebels this year!

Does anybody remember Hauck saying that the guys are starting to look the part or something to that effect referring to their size and strength? Well you could say the same thing about Rebel Basketball now. They actually look like a basketball team now. Does anybody ever remember the Rebels having 3 guys 6'11" and another guy riding the pine at 6'10". The 3 bigs can all play. Love Diong, he wants to play like a big man, doesn't seem to want to dribble and shoot 3's. He wants to slam dunk, grab rebounds and block shots. Sweet!

Hardy exceeded my expectations for a 1st game as a freshman. Good handles and sweet shot. Beck is something we haven't had on our team in a long time. He will not get pushed around at 6'7" & 245. Built like LJ. Smith and Beck were a good combination last night as was Juice and anybody else.

And can anybody say POINT GUARD? We finally have one!

Smith is gonna take Clyburns spot. Just my opinion, it might take a little time but it's gonna happen unless they like him coming off the bench.

More to be revealed next Saturday when it counts for real.

The statistic I found most enlightening is that hold overs from last year scored just 23 of the 97 points! 16 for Mooring and 7 for Dembele. And that was without McCoy playing.

On the positive side, that shows that Menzies has really upped the talent level from last year. But more problematic, it also shows that there is no carry over chemistry from last year. Though it could well be argued that chemistry was in short supply last year!

Definitely can play mismatch basketball now. So many combinations can be used. I think we will see Hardy, Jordan and Mooring on the floor together at times.

Jordan seemed to get to the basket whenever he wanted. Of course they didn’t have any size in the middle but still.

I think Clyburn will be sitting moreand that’s okay. We seem to have plenty of scoring so he doesn’t need to have that pressure. He can still get boards though. I think he had 5.

Hardy looks like a major steal to me. He is strong and solid. I don’t think we have had a player like him. He seems to have a swagger and confidence about him that is high D1 level. Almost like he can score anytime he wants.

Time will tell as we play tougher competition of course.

Go Rebs!
