Benefit of finally being a good team, two conference championship games and two bowl games, it gives last years and this years freshman classes two more weeks of practice for each season.
So the sophomore class has an extra four weeks of learning the system, competing in practice which will give those guys more confidence to be ready to play next fall.

Losing that game sucks. But it doesn’t take away from what has been built so far and what will continue to be built.

I think the program will get better. But we say will get better. Look at where we are. Ranked, a chance to play into the CFP. Miles from where we were, miles from where so many other schools wish they were.

This years defense with last years offense does better things/last years offense with this years defense does better things. We are still short in too many spots but it’s still better than most.

The extra practice should be great help. More than just reps. Helps set expectations. Helps with team unity. It’s the goal, high level football, anything less isn’t acceptable.

When you have expectations and accountability, you can achieve.

Redshirts can also play in postseason and not lose the redshirt. Not sure if we have any studs on the shelf, if so they can get some field experience.

We won’t see him, obviously … but I’ve heard a lot of good things in terms of long term potential with Ochoa. I’d love for him to be a 5 year guy that can perhaps get 2-3-4 years at QB while plugging in with transfers for another year or two. Transfers that can actually throw the ball.

That may be a pipe dream in this day and age. I just greatly prefer some continuity in the leadership roles, it’s tough with year to year.

I think this is a really underrated benefit to conference title games and post season appearances..

Nice post.
