Even the big boys have turmoil with boosters

We think that we have it bad.
The thing is, you could see this coming, and I wonder if the NIL money would have magically appeared if Wade or Crean would have been the choice?

I don’t say this to stir anything up about hiring Josh, I’m actually curious to see if he can implement his ideas and system here. Because if he does we will be just fine in basketball.

Boosters running the show by pulling the purse strings, get use to it! Lol

College sport has zero to do with academics anymore, and if they want the money, they will have to play by the rules which are now set by the boosters and not the NCAA! Now on it will be instant gratification or the boosters will pull their funding. Slow growth means zero NIL dollars donated!

Guys like Kevin Kruger will not be able to survive in this environment. You have to have a “relatable” plan upfront as a coach to even convince the NIL collectives to even give you a chance to coach and that chance is the money needed to operate!

Academics? lol. “Hey siri”.

When is the last time you saw an academic ineligibility. Remember having to sweat out some summers? Winter break? It’s not a thing anymore.

Jacob DeJesus is worth the price of whatever he is getting..
None of them are worth the prices they are getting paid. When a college student can make enough money to retire before he is out of school, he is way over paid, but currently there are enough deep pocketed alumni and no rules, so people are getting filthy rich while students who pay there own way through school are getting stuck with part of the cost of making them rich! I hope the court system gets involved quickly!

Me to Melvin Love:

“Hey Mel, how did you do on the test (finals)”

Mel: “I got an A”

Me: “how do you know grades haven’t been posted”

Mel: “because I had the god damn answers”

I had Greg Anthony in Economics and I would see him relatively often in class. I had Hudson and Gilliam in a Geography class and literally saw them both twice the entire semester. First day and finals.

Greg Anthony was one of those rare athletes who was also a very good student! His parents would have kicked his ass if he didn't also do well in his education

Just like the PGA Golf Management Program at UNLV, they should have a STRIP CLUB MANAGEMENT PROGRAM! It could pay for itself in tips! The athletes that are on each schools strip club teams could move around to other schools based on the better tippers! Making school fun again one stripper at a time!

I had a class with Larry his last semester, there were only about 12 of us in the class. Pretty sure he was there more than me even. One day I’m hanging out in the Union deciding on whether or not I was going to skip class that day. He sees me and yells “Rebswin come on let’s go to class”

Have you been to the Moyer Student Union these days? Starbucks, Stake N shake, Panda Express, Taco Bell…

Spoiled ass kids.

The Carl’s Jr across the street is the “Art” major building. Kinko’s building is imploded.

I f’n miss Moose’s and Tom and Jerry with 2 dollar pitcher nights.

Jacob DeJesus transferred to Cal with all those hairy armpit females. I know, my roommate had ‘em.

I drove by, Maryland Pkwy and saw they completely tore down that shopping plaza that had the Kinko's there.
The place looks run-down now, with a lot of homeless people behind the back. Sad.

Do you remember back then when they had “parties” at the student union? More like informal gatherings but they had beer, not sure if it was allowed or not allowed and they just didn’t enforce it, but I used to see hoops players there all the time. Booby James was a regular. Ed Catchings too and he had already graduated.

I remember things like that. Sometimes they’d have minor bands or minor comedians perform. I remember some really weak comedian named Barry Sobel perform a couple of times.

Yes they had parties in the Student Union when I was in the dorms around 1991. I remember going to one and they were playing that fckn song "You Spin Me Right Round Baby Right Round" all night. Our RA Angela from Iowa got all jacked up and puked all over the place. Good times.

I remember him and you know who else performed there Richard Jenni. He was actually funny and pretty big for a while he was in the movie The Mask with Jim Carrey.

Oh God I remember that song hated it. Same band also had Brand New Lover as a hit. Played all the time at the Sports Pub. Not as often as their theme song "How Soon is Now" but in the rotation.

They tore that building down at least 3-4 years ago. I believe it was originally built in the late 80's or early 90's, but was a really poorly designed building.

Sports Pub the bar upstairs with warm beer.

Guy we went to school with named Scott I think, from Michigan his first cousin is Anthony Kiedis. He used to talk about him before I knew really even who he was.
Warmest beer ever.

And the nice piss troughs in the bathroom. Tiny dance floor and it seemed like the Smiths and The Cure were constantly blaring.

But … it was fun.

Yeah it was like drinking in England. Plus the Yager tap at the end of the bar. Bathrooms too small for that place guys would piss in the sink. Never washed my hands in that place. I liked the lounge style tables they had in front of the dance floor a family friend bounced there and would save one for us.

Yep The Cure and The Smiths. It was kind of dumpy but it was still a good college bar, it was fun.

You guys missed the time when Mo showed up with his wife at the Sports Pub after their wedding. Tuxedo, gowns and all that. Fckn hilarious.

Red Hot Chili Peppers played at that bar across Maryland Pkwy, also before blowing up!
I saw them perform for free at RebelPalooza with Weezer!!!

And John Fruciante’s dad is a Tai Chi Instructor at Spring Mountain Tx Center.
