It gives them a leg up on all the coaches out there who don't have a job and they can start talking, through third parties, to head coaches at BCS schools.

And it'll make FSU rally and win 5 straight to finish the season.

Being facetious, of course.

But I do suspect they'll start talking, through third parties, with qualified assistants who are looking to make the jump to head (as UNLV did so many times in the past).... that scenario can fly far enough under the radar. The thing is, you really don't need a leg up on that type of candidate. It's not like there's a Black Friday rush to grab these guys.

So there's a high probability that this next 6 week period is going to be relatively fruitless.
