UCLA, Texas A&M, Houston, Michigan, and Florida are his final five for his next destination. Wishing the best to him.
That’s why I said before that he wouldn’t make it at Houston.Better play defense!
I agree. I'm not worried if everyone leaves, I'm not super excited for any player long term staying anyways. The way the portal works for mid-majors is rent a talent.. you can either waste a year developing them as a freshman to have them leave, or get hungry P4 talent looking for playing time that you don't need to develop, but mold...I am hoping Pastner cleans house entirelly, to be honest. I wish him luck, but I didnt want him back. With portal, we need a fresh start. I think the next period will be one of the better recruiting stretches for UNLV basketball since Dave Rice. Nobody questions Pastners ability to recruit. He will get us some players. It's the actual coaching part that has some questions marks.
Im a bit surprised. They have Uzan who is much better than Dedan and he has the option to come back to Houston next season. I must also say that Im surprised that Houston would want to put up with the family again after last offseasons back and forth where Dedan changed his mind at the 11th hour.Houston wanted him last year so that's not a surprise to see them on the list.
I’d be shocked if he went there as well. I think he is SEC bound.Im a bit surprised. They have Uzan who is much better than Dedan and he has the option to come back to Houston next season. Who?UNLV was a big nothing, so 99.9% of Las Vegas will not even remember Dedan Thomas Jr by next year.
He can hire an assistant to prop himself here!I am hoping Pastner cleans house entirelly, to be honest. I wish him luck, but I didnt want him back. With portal, we need a fresh start. Very few people followed UNLV basketball this year with only a few thousand at each game, so I really do not think the average Las Vegas resident was following the team, thus I do not believe most people will miss Dedan Thomas.Who?
It is far past time to start anew with this team.. i was hoping djt was going to be the next mark macon for unlv as was for temple back in the day.. ridiculous expectations and just didnt work out. And just ridiculous that he was talking about trying to get back from injury for the MWC tourney.. next...Very few people followed UNLV basketball this year with only a few thousand at each game, so I really do not think the average Las Vegas resident was following the team, thus I do not believe most people will miss Dedan Thomas.

There needs to be like a sell on clause like soccer had for players when they go to a different league...Players should need to sign 3 year contracts to prevent a free for all free agency market at the end of each college season.
The collective would have to be able to pay "NIL" for 3 years for that to happen.Players should need to sign 3 year contracts to prevent a free for all free agency market at the end of each college season.
DJ had the closest thing to a 2 year contract that we have seen. The final few games aside. Which I am appreciative. It certainly seemed like he some better offers after year one, but he stayed.Players should need to sign 3 year contracts to prevent a free for all free agency market at the end of each college season.
Actually in typical KK former player fashion, DJ is going to go off and average 20, 8, and 5 at his next destination lol. See Jackie Johnson, Keshon Gilbert and Keyshawn Hall's rise after they left that bum. (Im half joking, but players do see a crazy uptick in production after they leave Mr. Nepo). No one will remember him in 6 months - relax
I don't see his scoring upticking, but his assists/Game average will definitely go up and his impact will be more noticeable with better talent around him.Actually in typical KK former player fashion, DJ is going to go off and average 20, 8, and 5 at his next destination lol. Up here I've seen BSU players on TV hawking trucks, and on the radio heard Andrew Meadow shilling for a roofing company, and Tyson Degenhart touting the "Degenhart Dozen" for a local donut shop, among others.DJ had the closest thing to a 2 year contract that we have seen. The final few games aside. Which I am appreciative. It certainly seemed like he some better offers after year one, but he stayed.
The the whole idea of "NIL" is a complete farce. Where is the "name image and likeness" part? DJ was in one Findlay commercial That aired half way through his second season. It would be nice if these players actually did something for the money? Where are those Jewelers commercials!?!?
The only thing I've seen is the conserve water commercial and the car one. Also part of Dedan staying home in exchange for Liberty getting a shit ton of money so his school benefited off of his NIL as well.DJ had the closest thing to a 2 year contract that we have seen. UCLA just picked up Dent from UNM and word is they are done with Dylan Andrews. Don’t know if UCLA is still an option for DTJ. I think Cronin would bite his head off if he slumped those shoulders at Pauley Pavilion.UCLA, Texas A&M, Houston, Michigan, and Florida are his final five for his next destination. Wishing the best to him.
Would love to see his NIL contract.UCLA just picked up Dent from UNM and word is they are done with Dylan Andrews. Don’t know if UCLA is still an option for DTJ. I think Cronin would bite his head off if he slumped those shoulders at Pauley Pavilion.
That is not official yet. His team is posturing for more money from Texas Tech and Kentucky, but UCLA is offering him around the 2.5mil mark. I agree that Dedan isnt a good fit for UCLA, but Dent is also not a good fit for UCLA. A&M, Houston, and Michigan arent good fits for Dedan either.UCLA just picked up Dent from UNM and word is they are done with Dylan Andrews. Don’t know if UCLA is still an option for DTJ. You have any insight on possible UNLV targets at this point? I know it's very early.Portal season is more fun than the regular season at this point.
Nothing that is not already out. Sorry about that. You have any insight on possible UNLV targets at this point? I know it's very early.
No worries. New coach and portal season is likeNothing that is not already out. Sorry about that.
I'd be surprised if Kansas and UNC stopped pursuing Dent. Neither fan base likes their current status and aren't afraid to pay up.That is not official yet. Im afraid that those two were never truly on Dent and his team's list. I do wonder how those teams will look next year.I'd be surprised if Kansas and UNC stopped pursuing Dent. Neither fan base likes their current status and aren't afraid to pay up.
3milWould love to see his NIL contract.
