Again, used correctly.
Our defense was designed to funnel everyone into the key where our C contested the shot. So they were contesting WAY more shots than they would in a more traditional man to man.
As a consequence of this strategy, our center would then have to leave his man, leaving their big uncontested for the rebound, then our Center would be out of position to pivot back to guard HIS man .
You can see how the fouls would add up.
Pape is very promising as a true freshman. Still very raw offensively, but having a a long defensive center on the team is always a good thing.
Bear was a pretty good low post threat that mostly had his way against others in our league. Decent enough man up defender too.
The point being, I would want the new coach to have the opportunity to retain existing players. Many of our players have strengths, No player will be complete, but you can still go far if you design a system that utilizes players' strengths and minimizing weaknesses.
Fair enough!

Gonna take alot more than talking too at this point. NIL $ would take would be out of reach imo. I think that's why they call it that. the chances of staying are nil.
I said you at least talk to?

You discuss if NIL is a deal breaker, you don’t assume it is?!

You talk to the man and his side to find out because many have admitted he was surrounded by “just another guy types” while he was here.

Maybe the new coach has a “solve” for that!

All I can think is "Who give a flying ****?" All of these players now have agents, NIL money, etc.. and the last thing they care about is loyalty to a school!
I can’t say I blame them, especially for guys that might not make the league. You have to cash in when you can.

But don’t paint things as loyalty or as legend when you were going to go for the money. It’s extremely hypocritical. Call it business and move on, people wouldn’t like that but at least you are honest.

This was the long term plan from their camp. His leaving would have happened if Kevin is here and quite frankly, not that many players are, keeping Kruger to keep Thomas would be extremely foolish. Back in the day, when kids had to sit out, or if you nailed a really good incoming (or returning) class, it SHOULD be a consideration. NIL and chasing the payday makes that all moot now.

He is going to get killed against the bigger and more physical players in the SEC. At least he will get some $$ for going there and can ride the bench for the next few years. Nothing wrong with that.
You actually saw the physical play of the SEC in the Miss State game. I agree.....
