There is a nice little article on coach Chambers and the turn around at UNLV. It is also interesting to read that the coach at TCU was a past UNLV coach. If you get a chance, you may want to read the article.

The coach at TCU got his first head coaching job at UNLV. He dominated the league here. Then when he left, his assistant coach, Buddy G. tookover and things gradually declined each season thereafter. Everyone wanted Chambers to takeover back then, but AD Mike Hamrick was clueless and hired Buddy instead. I don't think Hamrick even called to interview Chambers, when everyone else knew he was the right guy all along.
