Coach Menzies and UNLV Athletics

I know everyone has strong opinions but I thought it was worth mentioning the heart of our coach and the athletics department.

My wife and I are co-chairs for the annual 5k vision walk that benefits the foundation for fighting blindness. The walk is this Sunday at Cornerstone park in Henderson. I reached out to UNLV athletics and they did not hesitate to help. My wife does a drawing at the walk for prizes to help raise funds and Coach Menzies provided an autographed ball and the staff provided a basket to include BBall tickets. Cheerleaders and the rebel mascot will be at the event to show support for the participating walkers.

My point being is this may be a transition year but I have no doubt that Coach Menzies is committed to the community and their slogan is sincere....We Play for Vegas.

Actually I think the fact that most of us have not a had chance to see UNLV in action has probably contributed to the lack of posts. It looks like the first regular season game will be streamed and that ought to generate an uptick in interest.

Don't get me started about all that stuff. I can go on for days...

I'll disagree about high fructose corn syrup "causing" diabetes whereas I'll agree if someone makes the point that a person's lack of self-control is a highly contributing factor to Type II.

Type I isn't the fault of the patient. I concede that.
