I don't see any metrics with SDSU, BSU or CSU? Since UNLV is the only team top 25 not in a major conference, it is time for that to be fixed!
Colandrea may or may not be the mvp for our squad. Thats less important....
Any "projected top 25" that has a UNLV logo is welcome 'round here!
Just goes to show what happens when you get your name out there. We have almost an entirely new team. There isn’t really any way for them to tell whether or not we’re top 25 I suspect this is related to the new coach as well as last year’s success. Certainly recruiting as well, but you don’t have a top 25 class either so something else is in play there to put us there.
This is where I think winning a bowl game against a “name” team was beneficial.

Might be Orgi if he can improve his throws. Just has unreal athleticism and Mullen can do multiple things with him.

UNLV being the only non-major conference team in top 25 puts them in a great position to push into a major conference. This could make UCLA a huge game, in order for UNLV to push for the Big12. I hope to see the basketball team have a breakout season and the football team make the playoffs!

We HAVE to beat Boise for our future. Ideally win the conference championship this year as well
Football is all about momentum and having a good initial ranking goes a long way. If we never get over the Boise hump it will be tough to get the benefit of the doubt in the future.

Lose the UCLA game, and it may not matter. It would bury UNLV in the rankings!
We will win both! Not because I’m also a USC alum, but because it’ll be the last time we have a regular season dance with Boise. I don’t care about our all time record with Boise. They’ve earned that. But I d like to be able to point to the record books to say we finished the most recent game with a W.
I am kind of surprised Boise isn't ranked vs us, I know we are mostly on there based upon last year's success plus having Mullen but given Boise's success you would think that would put them on there vs us. But it's definitely nice to get the recognition that has to help in a variety of ways.
Boise is more important for the battle of the G5s in the future. We need to prove that we can beat them at least once and sweeping them woth a conference championship win would be even better.
After this year, they will likely have a better in conference SOS and if it comes down to us vs them, we will likely lose the match up if it is close. If we show that we are the best g5 or at least the best in the west this year that will payoff down the road.
