Did declining the CBI have more to do with giving McCoy time to make a decision? Or did MM just think that there wasn't more that he could get out of this group, perhaps thinking continuing to play would just infect the young players with the terrible defensive mentality that the seniors had? Or did some kids have academic issues? Asking bc I don't quite understand why he wouldn't take advantage of additional playing time, maybe even play mostly next year's squad to given them more time together? I didn't necessarily want to see more of the same God-awful defense on the court, but more team ball, especially in a tournament situation (even the CBI) is always valuable experience.
