Charles Caine, per 247 sports, will become the latest member of UNLV football. Charles is a DB who played collegiately at the UNLV of the Ivy League COLGATE.

He should provide immediate help to the teams GPA.

Don’t know if he is eligible this upcoming season or not. As far as I could see he was unrated by 247 sports.

Today was the first time it showed up on 247 sports, which is the first I have heard of it. If this occurred back in March I missed the press release. Thanks for the info.

follow up question: with Singer not getting another year of eligibility do we have one more spot open?

The quote from March was from spring practice, so he must have started class in January to have been able to participate in spring camp.

The guys who enrolled in January and started class without being on scholarship (UNLV had already hit the limit of how many players could go on scholarship mid-year) didn't get "press releases". Most notably that group included hometown RB Biaggio Ali-Walsh, who attended class a couple weeks before it made the RJ after he tweeted it. Also in that group was former minor league baseball player James Baldwin III, who I was expecting to be an immediate impact player on defense - but apparently as a walk-on he didn't feel he had to do everything the staff expected and it didn't work out.

Colgate isnt an Ivy, they are in the Patriot "Little Ivy"League.
