Assuming Hawaii gets done..Then what?

Canzano is a total hack. I wasn't aware that he has a law degree and specializes in contract law (snicker).
How does he get this much run?
Well he talks all the time, so some can't help but listen. Funny post on my board. Our resident Beaver poster says he has lunch with 5 OSU fans regularly to talk athletics. At the last gathering he started to say "Canzano says", and his 5 buddies all laughed at him.

Yes July 1, 2026. But if I recall exit fees for most teams (AAC anyway, don't know about the Sun Belt) double on July 1 2025. So that is an important date. And The Pac-X can't just sit around for another 6-8 months for this to happen.

I go back to Sac State, who the Pac has totally blown off. There is talk that they wouldn't count as an 8th team because of what I will call the "probationary period" for moving to FBS. I don't know that this is accurate. They would be ineligible for the post-season for 2 years, but I don't think that excludes them from being counted in terms of league member #8. I could be wrong, but I rarely am.
They wouldn't count. The 2 year transition period they are still considered FCS even if they are in a FBC conference. During that period they are required to show they are meeting the metrics required for FBS membership including scholarships, attendance, D1 sports, etc... There is a reason why they havent been immediately brought into the Pac State conference...

Guess on my part.

NDSU joins MWC in some capacity either full or FB only.

South Dakota State, Montana and Montana State could also be in play but as football only additions.

I don't think the MWC is done yet.

Hmmm. You sound certain about this. Wonder if the NCAA would grant a one-year extension if indeed Sac State were to join for 26-27. A little late to do anything for 25-26.

'UTSA’s travel costs would likely increase by $1, 000,000 to $1.5 million annually (50–100%) if they joined the Pac-12 for all sports, driven by longer flights to Mountain and Pacific time zone schools, especially for Olympic sports. Football travel would see a modest increase ($200,000–$300,000), while Olympic sports could add $1–$1.5 million due to frequent cross-country trips.'
San Antonio to Pullman is 1946 miles, San Antonio to Storrs Connecticut is 1704.

The Texas schools, including Rice, have Tulsa and Tulane which are pretty close. But they still have a lot of Travel. More teams too. Connecticut to Tampa is a lot.

Also if UNLV joined, it would help them too.

But even so. If the PAC can get 10+ after CFP bonuses that would offset the costs. I would guess these newer schools are currently getting 6-7 mill per year, maybe more. The AAC lost their 4 best schools and markets, the legacy teams kept their 9, the new schools were no where near the departing schools' values. So something had to give.

I understand that. I just quoted an article tied to UTSA and their concerns regarding the cost of all sports and travel.
