Did the BIG win 8 with 8 teams same as the SEC won with 14 teams in round 1/2?

I get it the SEc at the top is very strong but the teams at the bottom of that conference had their opportunity and should not have made the tourney.

It's part of why I think those tournament has lacked alot of true excitement and upset. Too many SEC teams no one is rooting for a 9 seed SEC team as an upset and because they get the seeding benefits the "mid-major" Cinderellas are pushed to tougher matchups as lower seeds. It's created a boring first round where there wasn't any true upsets...
Drake/Mcneese and the 2 MWC teams were both popular picks and not real upsets

Considering Arkansas was tied with 3 other teams for 9th in the SEC, which means teams 9-13, they are near the bottom of the SEC. This is one of the teams I am assuming you mean shouldn't have made the tournament, but they just finished beating no. 2 seed St John's 75-66 (St. John's is ranked 5th in the nation).

Well more specifically I was talking about UT and OU and their 6-12 conference records.
