If UNLV doesn’t have a good year, I’m still not sure you fire him. Oh, it’d be more than deserved if we have another year of failure … but the slow builds have helped establish a new norm … a program that hovers near a 500 record and 5000 fans. If there’s failure, extend at a lesser rate, if that’s not ok, plenty of people woukd take the job with 500/5000 as the new norm.

The school and fans have tolerated these types of seasons, the fruits of a slow growth philosophy, it celebrates mediocrity but allows for less. If that’s we are, that’s what we are. Focus of football and Odom.

Ain’t no point in bitching and whining about it now. The bitching and whining was already done the past few DECADES, it’s played out.

I agree. It seems like we have a pretty solid overall team. As of now, I don't think we have a B Hamilton, or guy that we can give the ball to at the end when we're tied, or down 2 and need a bucket. Maybe that will be DJT, since he has a knack for getting into the lane and drawing fouls, hitting a floater, or dishing to an open guy.

This is what we knew coming into the season.. Its a team of role players outside DJ that you hope come together enough to be a competitive team. Bear is definitely the game changer inside that could have the type of impact Osobor had at Utah St. last year if you're looking at last night. Rishwain shooting anywhere near 50% all season will instantly make both Whaley and Cherry almost un-guardable. DJ throwing the lob or the inside out game. Thats what I saw last night. If they can do that all season together, then maybe the defense gets better as well. But thats the big if... and the talent will step up as we get into conference play so its still TBD on everyone outside Chery

He can be good and can change a game but he's not talented enough to change a season.

DJ didn't have a turnover. And that was in a helter-skelter game. If he stays close to that we'll win a few more games than we should. On the downside, he'll be playing loads of minutes because of lack of a decent backup. If he gets hurt - we're dead.

Look at the number of fouls that sent DJ to the line. He was 10 of 11 with more than half the points for the team at the FF line.

DJ can go unconscious at anytime. Everyone need to understand that this is only the first game. I dont know much about the new guy but Bear Cherry is a smart player. He is going to be a tough player for the MWC to cover. Memphis Saturday....let's see

Last year lose to Southern 85-71 this year win 93-79. 28 point improvement. Same Conference. Golf clap on to the next one.

Yes and they let him get away for it, but they will be way more talented than the last team we played. It will be interesting to say the least.
