Being only favored by 12.5 at home over Alabama St. really doesn’t fill my heart with glee.
Yea i hope it just because of all the new players and the TRUE line has not adjusted yet.

Here is my prediction. If they lose excuses:
A) It's one game, UNC just lost to Appalachian State (insert upset here) so one game doesn't mean anything.
B) Dedan clearly wasn't himself after his injury.
C) It's early in the season plenty of time to improve.
D) The team was hot and just couldn't miss their three's. It happens.
E) Oh my God these refs suck.
F) Kevin is building a program here. It takes time.

Actually they look way better than last years first game. At least on offense. Would be nice if they guarded the 3 as bama st seems to only be able to score from the outside.
Can’t box out, make free throws, turnovers etc.
Fundamentals are lacking again. Same thing every year.
With cherry and whaley we got huge beef. We should be going inside all the time and have swishrain on the outside. Dj sure does not look that great tonight.

It’s a slow build. CKK needs a few more seasons to get it right.
I am so optimistic. Felt like we could only win one way last year— so many win conditions opened up to us based on this performance.
They are more diverse , but I don't see us competing at a TOP 25 level or even close to it. IS IT COACHING? Hopefully we jell a TON and can compete for the MWC title. Seems like we have more Talent than last year but it's not showing on the floor YET.
This is year 4 of a 5 year contract? Can’t recall if an extension was added.
If UNLV doesn’t have a good year, I’m still not sure you fire him. Oh, it’d be more than deserved if we have another year of failure … but the slow builds have helped establish a new norm … a program that hovers near a 500 record and 5000 fans. If there’s failure, extend at a lesser rate, if that’s not ok, plenty of people woukd take the job with 500/5000 as the new norm.
The school and fans have tolerated these types of seasons, the fruits of a slow growth philosophy, it celebrates mediocrity but allows for less. If that’s we are, that’s what we are. Focus of football and Odom.

They beat Missouri last night. No idea how good Missouri is.
I don't usually get these all that right but I did say 93 for the Rebels and 10 rebounds for "Bear" Cherry who finished with 11 rebounds (to go along with 24 points). I hope he can play like that all year. Alabama St. had some big guys but Bear was up to the task. It will be interesting to see how he does against better competition.
Looked to me that Rebs have a stable of decent players but no WOW guys except maybe Whaley. DJ is good but really is not big enough or athletic enough to really dominate.
Our wing guys are all just ok except for Swishrain who is a shooter.

I agree. It seems like we have a pretty solid overall team. As of now, I don't think we have a B Hamilton, or guy that we can give the ball to at the end when we're tied, or down 2 and need a bucket. Maybe that will be DJT, since he has a knack for getting into the lane and drawing fouls, hitting a floater, or dishing to an open guy.
