I'd take an athletic 6'9", 6'10" center over a 7'2" slow moving post player any day.I have no problem with preference or opinion. But Tony Lane at 6’6” was an undersized 5. But if Kalib Boone at 6’9” and with a 7’3” wingspan is too undersized to play the 5, then almost every UNLV NCAA tournament team, when you look at the height of the starting centers beginning with Moffett, Green, Basnight, Butler, Ackles, Kambala, Anthony, Massamba and Birch featured undersized starting 6’9” centers. In fact, are there any UNLV ncaa tourney teams that started a center who was 6’11” or taller?
It may be. But we are coming back at you with FACTS. You know, statistics and the like.Your opinion, give up dude!
Apparently, Tark felt the same way.I'd take an athletic 6'9", 6'10" center over a 7'2" slow moving post player any day.
Colorado State had 3 7'+ guys years ago and our "bigs" ate them for lunch.
You just do you. I know a few of the people that you have had to deal with and they will never make anything easy. So many people have their only identity tied into social media acceptance. That is their problem. We appreciate your sharing what and when the time is right. Others will just need to learn to be patient and respectful or learn to live with disappointment. Thanks for your contributions.I'd love to but this is getting too crazy. I like providing news but its gotten to a point where I can't give too much because even when I give a little, people run with it.
Some people are twisting my words and saying that I said this or that and then it spreads. Some people do their own sleuthing and then assume they're right and then tell other people that I told them x, y, and z when I didn't. For example, a few people claimed that I said Jazz Gardner committed to us and spread that. Someone from Gardner's camp even reached out to me about the "rumor."
People are constantly badgering me on Twitter too. There are about 7-8 people that message me every day, multiple times a day begging for information. Then when I dont reply, they go on and tell people that I hate them and that I'm not actually a Rebel fan. I've gotten screenshots of these messages.
I know this isnt every fan, but there are a lot of strange people that are making this not fun anymore.
Speed is way better than height. Depends what you want to do with it and who’s the coach.Apparently, Tark felt the same way.
Spencer would have been if not for probation. Keon Clark was on the 98 team too right?I have no problem with preference or opinion. But Tony Lane at 6’6” was an undersized 5. Spencer and Keon is almost 10 years apart. Keon is a Bayno's player. Elmore Spencer was a Tark's player if I am not mistaken with Love, Evric Gray, JR Rider, DT Sr...etc. Hard to imagine this but during Tark's last year and after LJ, Stacey, Greg and Hunt left...we were looking at our team and said "Our team look smallish". Spencer, Love, Evric Gray looks smallish...Spencer would have been if not for probation. Keon Clark was on the 98 team too right?
This f*cking team had Ed O'Bannon (and God know who else) joining them if Maxson would just leave Tark be.Spencer and Keon is almost 10 years apart. Keon is a Bayno's player. Forget all of that. After Tark left UNLV he was hired as the Coach for the San Antonio Spurs. It did not workout so he went to Fresno State. Melvin Ely, Chris Herren...et al later..Tark was the master at attracting talents and put them to compete on the national stage. To say that he was a genius is an understatement. This f*cking team had Ed O'Bannon (and God know who else) joining them if Maxson would just leave Tark be.
I am as ignorant about football recruit as any diehard UNLV fan maybe even worst, I hope you new fan to UNLV basketball know who Ed O'bannon was out off high school. He was the #1 ranked of the world out of high school. He was committed and on campus at UNLV before Tark tell him to go somewhere else for his own good.
Yeah Tark never really had many 6'11" type guys, in some instances he tried and failed but I think mostly he was more than happy to take shorter guys who were athletic and could produce like a taller center. He had a few back ups who were taller like a David Willard but not many starters.Spencer and Keon is almost 10 years apart. Keon is a Bayno's player. That team was very solid. Not great (comparatively) but they were an easy S16 team. What’s amazing is it was a completely different style from the previous couple of seasons. So wish we could have seen Tark with that team in 92-93. Even without the huge recruits he had lined up I think he would have made another deep run.
Same with Ricky Robinson... should have- could have- never did develop- no heartYeah Tark never really had many 6'11" type guys, in some instances he tried and failed but I think mostly he was more than happy to take shorter guys who were athletic and could produce like a taller center. Yeah my friends and I called him the donkey he looked so uncoordinated and slow out there.Same with Ricky Robinson... should have- could have- never did develop- no heart
IllinoisKerr Kriisa back in the portal after Huggy quitting recently. I doubt there's any chance he comes here, but curious where he ends up. SI saying Memphis, Cinci and Nebraska targeting him.
I’m surprised it’s not Xavier. He was recruited to Arizona by Sean Miller.Illinois
Who is your 1st?Y’all know Memphis is my 2nd favorite college team of all time.
JT. That is hilarious! Someone needs to tell that story to all of the Netters who haven't been here for 15 years
The one that I graduated with a degree from in 2008! It’s a liberal arts degree but with that, you get to see a LOT of things with it. What’s the saying, “Jack of all trades, master of none.”Who is your 1st?
Even though this post is not about a great pick up (recruit) it is a great post! I like the way u offer to help people who need it and specially the ones who have a dog."People need help. If you are in a better position, do what you can."
I've thought about this a lot. I'm pretty sure just giving money to the homeless doesn't help them for more than a couple of hours. So the question is - How to help?
I walk a huge area with my dog during the months I'm in town. ( @ 8 miles a day on streets between Eastern/Sandhill and DI/Sunset.) I bet I've talked at length to over 200 homeless. It's surprising how people will talk at least a little about themselves if you spend the time.
IMO, almost nobody is on the street due to circumstances that they didn't bring on themselves (other than the severely mentally ill) I believe a very high percentage of the non-mentally ill young homeless ( 35 and under ) are addicted to drugs and they will take whatever substance they can get. The older ones seem to be more alcoholics. A few are just disturbed enough that they are perceived as "weird" and can't hold a job. Almost none make it past 60.
So what do I do? Everyone I talk to I offer the number and address of Catholic Charities. I offer to call for them right there and offer a ride if they want to go. ( I almost never get a taker in the past 4 years I've done this) As far as direct payments, the younger ones want $$ but I don't give because I don't want to be the one who financed the drug that killed them. Anyone with a dog - young or old - I buy dog food and bring it to them. I will bring older ones food and water/coffee/hot chocolate. These people are always very thankful.
This is a huge problem. But it's hard to help people who need professional care and are suspicious of caregivers.
You’re a good man."People need help. If you are in a better position, do what you can."

I don’t know everyone’s situation but 99.999 percent it’s drugs."People need help. If you are in a better position, do what you can."

Big men are very valuable. Duke, Kansas, MSU, MU, FSU etc, etc have tall bigs who can shoot the three and play well on pick and roll. SDSU and BSU will set tough screens. Ike will be at BSU but Muoka handled him in MWC play. New Mexico has several tall guys and we will battle with them for second place.Your opinion, give up dude!
Teddy you are a good man and human.
I am grateful for your friendship. Stay weird you’re the best.
I try to be a good human. The only time I’ll be a crappy person is when I troll and talk smack.Hall thought he was a SG not a PF. Whaley will more than makeup for Hall.
Welcome to the internet. All you can do, is ignore the trolls. No matter the subject, they will be there, from VLOGGERS, to youtubers, to gaming streams , yes, even sports insiders. Nobody is immune to the internet trolls and Karens of the world.I'd love to but this is getting too crazy.
