That would be fantastic since it would get us to a bowl game that includes the very valuable bowl practices and game experience. Hope you're right. Would love to see it.

For me, anything less than 5-7 would be a disappointment. Not that I'd jump off the Sanchez train if we went 4-8, but I think 5 wins should be the floor.

We absolutely should win home games against Jackson State, Idaho, and Fresno State (3 wins). While I don't want the team thinking this way, I expect road losses against UCLA, BSU, and even SDSU (3 losses). That leaves 6 games that are absolutely winnable. Go 2-4 (5-7 total) and we're showing steady signs of improvement. Go 3-3 and we're bowl eligible. Go 4-2 and the MW needs to watch out.

4-8 would be acceptable if the only game we aren't competitive in is UCLA.

I'll be speculative and say we lose SJSU, but it'll be close. Fresno might be a toss up, but I think we have the edge since they're rebuilding as well. I don't think they'll have quite enough in the tank to beat us.

FUNR's charred and beaten corps should be the victory to get us into a bowl game. What a fitting end to a season.

@Bullmastiff 1 4-8 would be rough for me. We can't afford to lose against Jackson or Idaho. That is an FCS team and a perennial bottom-feeder FBS school. So there you have 2 wins. If we only go 4-8, that means that we only win 2 games against the other 10 teams on our schedule.

While 4-8 is better than 3-9, that doesn't show me much real improvement from CTS' first year. The extra win would really be based on the strength of our non-conference schedule.

N. Illinois -- CMU (fairly similar)
UCLA -- UCLA (same)
Idaho State -- Jackson State (fairly similar)
Michigan -- Idaho (much easier)

Swapping a game at the Big House for a home game against Idaho gives you the extra win. Again, doesn't show me a lot.

Much more workable schedule than last year. UCLA, SDSU and BSU are the only ones I'd count as for-sure losses at this point. Not saying the others are for-sure wins, but I like our chances in all of them!

I agree to an extent.

I just go back to this isn't a rebuilding job, there has to have been something built to actually rebuild.

I am pretty confident we will get to 5 though.

I intend to go to the SJSU game but have yet to see the Rebels win a game when I see it live (unless you count the win vs Hawaii in 2011 where my friends dragged me out in the 3rd quarter). Hoping that game would buck the trend!
