#1 We will lose 90% of our close games this year if the other team has a go to guy. We don't have a go to guy. Hamilton or Hardy may be that guy next year. Successful teams have someone that can put the team on their back and carry them across the finish line.

We made our run tonight while McEwen was on the bench and it was almost maddening to me that the coach left him on the bench as long as he did knowing that as soon as he put him back in they would take control down the stretch.

#2 We have absolutely no help defense in the lane unless Diong or Dembele is in the game. Love the way the Diong gets after it. We have 15 fouls to give with our centers, they need to start getting physical and use them up. McCoy's defense is still pretty nonexistent.

#3 God help Menzies if he ever says what Miller for Arizona said today and I quote "I just can't get them to play hard for me". Almost everybody on this board thinks it's the coach's fault if the players just don't understand what it means to play hard.

Time to make Hardy our go to guy. He's the one guy on this team that I think can go get his own shot or create one for someone else.

Um..it IS the coach's fault if he can't get his players to play hard for him. What am I missing??

And, if the players that the coach recruits "don't understand what it means to play hard", then the coach needs to recruit players that DO understand what it means...or get his current players to understand what it means.

Again, what am I missing?

I've said it before, but Hardy is by far this team's most important player. With Johnson and Mooring graduating he is going to be our guard that needs to develop into a team leader.

McCoy is looking more and more like he SHOULD stay another year, but time will tell in that regard.

McCoy may never really be ready for the league. He has slow feet. I don't see how he is ever gonna guard someone like Nowitski or any of the mobile centers in the NBA. The big man era is done. If you can't run, guard & shoot there isn't much for you in the NBA anymore. Not saying he couldn't get quicker but that is something that guys are usually born with.

Love Hardy's game. I think he needs to take charge a little more and not defer to the other guys so much. He is the best we have in the open court on the break.

I’m trying to figure out McCoy. He either packed it in early ala Rashaad Vaughn and is keeping himself injury free or he’s just lazy.

He’s so natural against his inferior opponents. He gets his points from free throws, dunks and bunnies.

I don’t see him staying to ‘develop’.

But I agree with you it’s time to put our eggs in Hardy and hopefully him and McCoy gain some chemistry if McCoy were to stay. Heck if he played his cards right, he’ll let mooring shoot himself into the bench to get more meaningful minutes.

It’s obvious Mooring and McCoy don’t get along from a basketball perspective.

Mooring is freezing him out.

Johnson is just a black Cody doolin. Mooring is like a retarded version of wink.

I’m done with this garbage back court.

I believe we have good players. Not sure why it seems many teams have scary good shooting nights against us. Our biggest problem right now in my opinion is: we give up WAY too many uncontested layups. Help from everybody is slow and they all act like they would rather give up a basket and save a foul. That is a horrible thought process for our Rebs. Cram EVERY shot at the rim down their throats. We need to get meaner. And finally: Is ANY Rebel team ever gonna respect out MWC foes.?

I COMPLETELY agree. I saw the same thing, but didn't want to be the first to say it.

I've got a theory on why, but its better left discussed in the off-season. I think it highly unlikely this situation be fixed this year.

I think I have seen the light when it comes to "One and Done" players - the risk is just not worth it. No more.

Well spill the beans, nobody read Tark board anymore.

My theory..

Imagine You’re the man a year ago, got the green light..now you gotta defer and feed a guy who doesn’t know how to pass out, no cutters.

You’re a senior. You can get away with
Shooting crap shots?

Who’s gonna challenge for your position?

Mooring’s got this team by the balls.

Imagine that your the only guy that takes charges and dives for loose balls. Here comes the savior of the program - except he doesn't take charges or dive for loose balls. Or play defense.

Just thinking out loud. ;)

How about sitting both McCoy and Mooring a game and starting Diong and Hardy in their places? Who cares if we win or lose if it means a chance of salvaging the rest of the season by knocking some sense into their heads. If they don't respond positively then go with the guys that WILL put the team first above their own egos and desires.
