No...He's staying from what I understand.
Fertitta might just be shifting to a different role. If I were him, I’d plant my flag with Hunkie and start working on building goodwill in the community.

Based on what he did as DC at SDSU (30th and 2nd in total defense) and MISS STATE (30th in total defense) I'm extremely excited by this hire. Has been given a lot of credit for his work as an analyst at Ol Miss this year.
Add to it a year as a HC..
On paper his resume is better than Scherer. (Not a guarantee the results will be better but you gotta like the odds).

It's a very stacked staff... not your typical G5 coaching staff and I'd be very surprised if the level of players we get isn't also elevated...

When they put him in charge of the bowl game, figured he was a keeper.
Uncle Del tied for most bowl wins in program history. Surpassing his predecessor.
When Coach Del was interviewed mid-game at the LA Bowl you could tell he was having so much fun. It looked and sounded like a 16 year old kid having the time of their life after getting the keys from their dad the day they get a license. Pure joy.
Retired a couple years back. He was at Idaho.

Kinda feeling like if he was going to stay, it would have been announced today.
Lets see what tomorrow brings. I know they wanted to keep him, and I know he wanted to stay. Either he’s chasing a bigger opportunity, or he’s weighing his options.
Also surprised about Longshore. I thought they might keep him around in some capacity.
