Didn't see that coming! Robotham was incredibly efficient last night (6/8 shooting with 5/6 from 3. 10 assists with 0 turnovers). There were a lot of bad turnovers that the Rebels committed but overall they kind of hung around the first half and did well not to get too far down and then played much better in the second half. Got to credit half time adjustments. If you would have told me before the game that Ntambwe would only play 7 minutes and score only 3 points I would have said we're looking at another 17 point loss but the team rallied. Good win Rebels!

Unlv defense in first half was awful. Only great 3 point shooting kept game in range.

Why did natwambe only play a few minutes?

I will have to point out 1 thing the team has gotten better on since start of the season and that would be 3 point shooting.

Their rebounding was strong early in the season but sucks now. Defense worse also.

I will have to point out 1 thing the team has gotten better on since start of the season and that would be 3 point shooting.

All easily explainable by the sustained injuries. We lost valuable bigs, we gained spacing and an extra shooter. Gave up rebounding and interior defense (and turnovers and poor spacing) for outside shooting and a more open court.

The Defense was really good in the 2’nd half.

I know some will take exception to this but in the post game CMM stated he left the locker room and told the guys to figure it out. When he came back in they knew what they had to do to turn it around. He added a few adjustments and voila! That tells me he had them prepared but they didn’t execute for whatever reason in the 1’st half.

They often have no rim protection and absolutely suck at help defense and turning their head and giving up back door layups.

What is more troubling is in unlv’s good games, the seniors are doing lots of the work so next year does not look that promising. Hardy improving and Ntambwe looks promising. The rest are maybes. Recruiting is not bringing anyone in to get super excited about. Everyone ready for another rebuilding year?

This team is very schhitzo. Some games they look great and some games terrible. Mostly they look great against bad teams and terrible against decent teams. Except sometimes they look terrible against bad teams.
