Looks like UNLV just lost a good one! Only played one year, but had a lot of future potential. UNLV can't keep losing players or we will be in the same hole as unr next season.

I know we’re a sinking ship but are we officially a sinking ship?
He was part of the plan, and is likely going to be picked up by a higher profile program quickly! I do hope to see where the rest of the 2022 recruiting class is going really soon!
Should have been the first question for the new AD interview. We need a forward thinking NIL program. ASAP
Hester has graduated. No reason for him to stay another year unless he is looking for a masters at UNLV.
We should grab some of these Hawaii D linemen who enter the portal. Come out to the 9th Island lol

Justus Tavai

Both guys had good numbers for Hawaii
It looks like per 247 transfer portal that we have good news and that he is staying at UNLV per news from today! I am guessing transfers to UNLV means he removed himself from the portal back to stay at UNLV! Coaches must have done their job, or he didn't find a better program to transfer to and decided it was best to stay.
Jan 7, 2022: TransferWaisale Muavesi transfers to UNLV Rebels
College coaches now have to recruit high schools, the portal, and their own roster to keep em from leaving. Good grief
Can't have too many DL that can play. Sometimes when you face the hurry up no huddle offenses your defense winds up playing a lot of snaps. The big dudes get tired.
It’s disgusting and it’s going to ruin the sport for 290+ college basketball programs and 80+ college football teams. But it’s a dream for those 40 colleges who are only helped by it.Can you imagine the NFL, or any pro sport, that was in a permanent state of the entire roster being eligible for free agency every year with no salary cap? That is what the NCAA is building towards.

I don’t think there are strong solutions. Any solution is going to be peppered with problems. It's a tough spot for me.
If institutions are profiting off of your likeness you should receive compensation.
Let's go back a few years. Let's use Charles Woodson from Michigan as an example.
Michigan sold a ton of #2 Jerseys because of Woodson. Not just in Michigan. You saw that jersey everywhere.
On the flipside..
Regardless if Woodson went to Michigan or not 90k+ folks are showing up to that stadium.
I feel like there is a sensible middle ground, what that is, I don't know..
I think the NCAA needs to look at this and figure out a tweak to the rule. Shouldn’t be able to transfer within conference and still be immediately eligible (SEC transfers have been a complete joke). Perhaps the same following a coach (Looking at SC, Colorado St). Maybe also a minimum of 2 years or something unless your coach bounces. I don’t know, but it’s the Wild West right now and it’s making college football a farceCan you imagine the NFL, or any pro sport, that was in a permanent state of the entire roster being eligible for free agency every year with no salary cap?
