So Im at the grocery store yesterday and get in line to pay....look up, and the guy in front of me is "Big T"... Thurl Bailey...of Valvano's NC State championship team fame...and NBA retired vet.
He actually lives a few blocks from me, and I've seen him around, plus our boys played on the same basketball team when they were little ones... but yesterday I finally had the chance to ask him if he had video of that tourney game from 1983...that I was a UNLV fan, and he broke my heart that year. He just laughed and said he may have it somewhere, but he said he saw it on YouTube.... anyway, he had good things to say about UNLV and Tark.... but said that was a magical run for his NC State team.
Thurl's a good dude.. ..but I couldve sworn that game wasnt on YouTube...I'd searched for it before, but I guess I didn't look well enough, or maybe I just hadn't done it since 2013 because he's right, it is on YouTube . ...here it is (posted back in 2013):
