I think that was the second time it has happened this season. Not a lot of movement without the ball. Especially when someone is driving. Bryce could have 7 assist a game if he would just dump the ball off . other teammates.knows he is highly unlikely going to pass.
UNLV is a swimming school, AFA on the other hand is a basketball school so looking at the score UNLV got a moral victory, call it a win. By the end of the season the Rebels will definitely be competing for the coveted 8/9 seed and 2pm Tuesday game in the MWCT, they will be a team no one wants to play come March…
Sucks that players seem hell bent on showing off their scoring ability when a high basketball IQ would score higher with NBA scouts.
We took seven shots in the 10 minutes.
Williams - 1 Layup missed
Hamilton - 3 jumpers missed
McCabe - 2 three pt. missed
Webster - 1 three pt missed.
1) No way should we attempt only 1 layup in 1/4 of a basketball game. 2) Why didn't we get the ball to Williams more? 3) What is wrong with Hamm down low? 4) Our bench 4 points - their bench 28 points. ( there are at least 5 guys on scholarship who don't deserve it. Decent starting 5 then zip, nada, nothing) 5) Gilbert - 1 point, 4 fouls, 3 T.O. 1 rebound - what a disappointment.
CKK needed to step up. "OK. Listen up. Not one more jumper ( other than the last 3 sec of the clock) until Hamm or Williams gets a touch down low. Period"
CKK needs to step up? He needs a stick of dynamite somewhere. Did we hire him to score in the fifties and sixties? NO. Where is the pushing the ball upcourt for a quick shot EARLY in the shot click… BEFORE the other team sets up defensively? Where are the quick outlet passes after a rebound?? No, we hand it off to McCabe who is thrilled to “work”the ball upcourt. Disgusting… never seen a team that wants to play a half court game so much. We ALWAYS play right into SDSU’s hands by playing slow and deliberate. No wonder they have beaten us 20 out of 22 or something. So Kruger, Force us to play faster, shoot faster, double team more often, etc. Quit listening to our radio announcers that keep telling us how tough it is to beat Air Force. They are so tough that Montana, Arkansas St and Tareleton St had no problem beating them. It’s pitiful that we let other teams dictate to us and how WE want to play. Something has to change because this is NOT WORKING.. We play too tight… too Kruger regimented… loosen it up. Become the Runnin Rebels again…..
It’s poor offense, again. We’ve seen it a lot over the years. We can say “we don’t have the players” but AFA REALLY doesn’t have the players. The bland/slow offense, too much one on one (again) … I guess I’ve gotten used to it. I expect it to be pretty ineffective. Was hoping defense would be able to make up for it. It has been pretty hit and miss, but more miss.
CKK got stuck with what he could put together in a very short period of time. We will need to see what kind of recruiting job he can do this year to fix the team. At least 1/2th-2/3rds of the current team are just place fillers that really are not doing anything to help the program. We do have one high profile scorer coming in next season, but that alone will not be enough.
Seems like we are not a very disciplined team on offense or defense. Not very crisp. Could be a the talent ?? SURE! If not its coaching. We seem like we run EASILY defended plays. We beat the teams that are also not very disciplined and not as talented ! I know very little about the aspects of coaching only what i see with my eyes ,but i think Hamilton is a determint to this team.

Neither one to brag on, but offense is attrocious.
I agree, you can’t just take this years offense and stamp it as KK’s offense for always and forever.
That said, fillers, strong or not - they’re better offensively than an Air Force. It hasn’t looked like a decent offense in spite of any obstacles. It should be better. Too much one on one …
